<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Recruiting a Scientist I to develop a commercially viable shear wave tensiometer system for use in rehabilitation. Those skills include knowledge of the fundamental technology, background in biomechanics, excellent programming skills and exceptional presentation abilities.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Identifies research problems, designs research methodologies, performs research, and helps to prepare the results for presentation to professional organizations or for scholarly publications to help advance research.</p> <ul> <li>10% Assists with the identification of research problems and the development of research methodologies and procedures </li><li>20% Collects and analyzes research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures under general supervision and limited responsibility </li><li>10% Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities </li><li>10% Attends and assists with the facilitation of scholarly events and presentations in support of continued professional development and the dissemination of research information </li><li>30% Writes or assists in developing grant applications and proposals to secure research funding </li><li>20% Serves as a main point of contact and liaison with internal and external stakeholders providing information and representing the interests of a specialized research area </li></ul> <p>Institutional Statement on Diversity:</p> <p>Diversity is a source of strength, creativity, and innovation for UW-Madison. There is a possibility of the position being extended or changing to Fixed Term Renewable status if there is a need for an ongoing appointment and/or funding becomes available.</p> <p>The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
