<p>Summary</p> <p>The Client Technology Staging Engineer is responsible for end-to-end device provisioning, user lifecycle management (ULM), and multi-device staging in support of the Abacus client base. This role combines hands-on PC building and imaging with user onboarding/offboarding and the configuration of additional client hardware such as mobile devices, phones, and select network-enabled equipment.</p> <p>This position is client-facing in impact and highly visible within the organization. It requires precision, strong communication skills, technical depth across Windows and cloud environments, and a process-driven mindset. While exposure to network-connected devices is expected, this role does not require advanced network engineering responsibilities.</p> <p>Engineers in this role are expected to execute standardized build processes while also identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and scripting.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>PC Build, Imaging & Hardware Configuration</p> <ul> <li>Build and configure laptops and desktop PCs using Abacus standard procurement and build processes </li><li>Execute imaging workflows (PXE, USB, or automated tools) </li><li>Stage devices according to Abacus and client-specific checklists </li><li>Install and configure Windows and macOS operating systems </li><li>Configure BIOS settings, drivers, and firmware updates as required </li><li>Troubleshoot hardware issues including GPUs, USB devices, driver conflicts, and OS-level errors </li><li>Validate successful configuration prior to shipment </li></ul> <p>Lifecycle Management (ULM)</p> <ul> <li>Provision new user accounts across client environments </li><li>Handle secure offboarding and removal of user services </li><li>Configure and validate ULM services including: </li><li>Active Directory </li><li>Microsoft 365 / Office 365 </li><li>Azure / Azure AD </li><li>Citrix XenApp/Desktop </li><li>Email and file access permissions </li></ul> <p>Additional Equipment Staging</p> <ul> <li>Stage and initial configuration on equipment such as: </li><li>Mobile devices </li><li>Desk phones </li><li>Peripheral hardware </li><li>Network devices </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>1-2+ years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a client-facing technical role </li><li>Hands-on experience building and configuring Windows PCs </li><li>Basic understanding of macOS configuration </li><li>Working knowledge of: </li><li>Active Directory </li><li>DNS & DHCP </li><li>Microsoft 365 / Azure </li><li>Networking </li><li>Automation tools </li><li>Device management </li></ul> <p>Benefits of Working for Abacus:</p> <ul> <li>Exposure to diverse array of technologies </li><li>Part of a team of experienced engineers who aim to deliver exceptional service </li><li>Competitive compensation </li><li>Robust benefits package: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401k, and PTO </li><li>Opportunities to further technical education through online courses </li><li>Positive, friendly, supportive work environment </li></ul> <p>Create a Job Alert</p> <p>Interested in building your career at Abacus Group LLC?
