<p>Role: Sr. Data Scientist</p> <p>Location: Sandy, UT (In-Office, Flexible work options available)</p> <p>Reports To: CTO</p> <p>The Senior Data Scientist will be the first and sole Data Scientist in the organization, serving as a foundational member of 401GO's growing data function. In this role, you will not only lead advanced analytics, modeling, and experimentation efforts, but also help shape the long-term data strategy and infrastructure for the company.</p> <p>As the team and business scale, this role will be responsible for building, hiring, and managing a high-performing data science team. This is an ideal position for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and is excited about owning both hands-on analytics and future leadership responsibilities.</p> <p>What You'll Be Doing:</p> <ul> <li>Lead the Data Science Program: Architect the long-term data science roadmap, including infrastructure, hiring, processes, and best practices. </li><li>Build and mentor a high-performing data science and analytics team as the company grows. </li><li>Establish data governance, documentation standards, and model lifecycle management. </li><li>AI and Machine Learning Development: Develop and curate high-quality datasets for internal AI tools, ensuring privacy, security, and consistency. </li><li>Hands-On Data Science and Analytics: Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, behaviors, operational bottlenecks, and strategic insights. </li><li>Build dashboards, predictive models, and custom analytics to support executive decision-making. </li><li>Work closely with Finance to improve forecasting, cost modeling, revenue analytics, and operational reporting. </li><li>Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with executives, engineering, operations, customer success, finance, and product to identify data opportunities and drive measurable impact. </li></ul> <p>What You Bring:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of professional data science experience, including senior or lead-level responsibilities. </li><li>A willingness to be a "jack of all trades" data scientist, willing to switch between high-level strategy and deep hands-on execution. </li><li>Experience creating and managing datasets for AI applications, or a willingness and eagerness to learn. </li><li>Experience working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; BigQuery experience is a plus). </li><li>Experience with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Metabase, etc.). </li><li>Proven ability to build and scale data programs, processes, and teams. </li><li>Experience supporting business functions like Finance, Operations, Product, or Growth with analytics and reporting. </li><li>Strong communication skills, able to present complex insights to executive leaders and non-technical teams. </li></ul> <p>Job Type: Full-time</p> <p>Location: United States</p> <p>Why 401GO?</p> <p>At 401GO, we're not just changing retirement-we're reinventing it.
