<p>Internship Coordinator</p> <p>Location: Lakewood, CO</p> <p>Salary: $45,000-$45,000/year</p> <p>Application Deadline: Open until filled, review of complete applications will begin July 18, 2025</p> <p>The Internship Coordinator plays a key role in connecting students with experiential learning opportunities that align with their academic goals and creative career aspirations, guiding them through the internship process from initial exploration to securing an internship opportunity, whether for academic credit or non-credit professional experience. They also contribute to all aspects of career preparation programming, including résumé and cover letter development, interview coaching, portfolio development/review, and overall readiness for entering the workforce.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Career Counseling</p> </li><li> <p>Internship and Experiential Work Experience Assistance: Provides students with resources and guidance in the areas of a variety of career-related categories in order to assist them with attaining employment, internships, or experiential work experiences in their area of study. Oversee the internship application and approval process, including internship agreements and course registration.</p> </li><li> <p>Communication/Programming</p> </li><li> <p>Training Workshops and Events: Assistant in the development, coordination, and facilitation of a variety of in-person and virtual career-related skill development workshops and events.</p> </li><li> <p>Employer and Alumni Relations</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the Development of Career Related Programming + Resources: Help establish and facilitate initiatives, which include but are not limited to employer/organization and alumni events, meet-ups, and guest speakers.</p> </li><li> <p>Statistical Data Collection and Dissemination:</p> </li><li> <p>Data Collection: Conduct assessments and collection of data through a variety of outreach channels, including but not limited to surveys, electronic communication, telecommunication, online social media, and direct mail to alumni and recent graduates to determine employment, position titles, salary, and continual professional development. Assist with tracking employer/organization engagement.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with academic departments to align internships with program outcomes and prerequisite requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Advise students on the internship process, including eligibility, prerequisite alignment, sponsor selection, and academic registration.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the internship application and approval process, including internship agreements, course registration, and compliance with academic credit policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Director of Career + Alumni Services with the development and maintenance of partnerships with local and national employers and mentors to source internship opportunities tailored to RMCAD's degree program offerings.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate and assist with events, workshops, classroom presentations on internship preparation and career development topics, including résumé and cover letter writing, mock interviews, portfolio development, networking strategies, and professional communication.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain internship records and tracking using the college's Career Services Platform(Symplicity) in addition to Anthology CRM and ensure data accuracy for institutional reporting.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in administrative duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in art/design, higher education administration, counseling, or related field preferred. Candidates with relevant experience and a strong interest in supporting student success are encouraged to apply. </li><li>At least one to two years of experience (including internship, student leadership, work-study) in academic advising, counseling, career services, or student support roles in a higher education setting. </li><li>Familiarity with developing, promoting, or supporting internship and experiential learning programs in a higher education environment. </li><li>Awareness of employment and internship regulations (FERPA and FLSA compliance), policies, and procedures. </li><li>Comfortable delivering virtual career advising and programming to online and remote students and alumni on platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. </li><li>Interest or experience in the creative industries, with a basic understanding of career pathways, portfolio development, and job search strategies in design-focused fields. </li><li>Ability to support students with career services programming, such as employment and internship search and application, resume writing, interviewing, and networking. </li><li>Ability to maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, employers, students, and alumni to support career development and internship/employment </li><li>opportunities. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office and openness to learning new platforms. </li><li>Knowledge of CRM Anthology and Symplicity programs is a plus. </li></ul> <p>Working Environment + Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>The Internship Coordinator will be required to work a regular schedule, which can include evenings and weekend work, and working outdoors. </li><li>Hybrid work schedule with three required days per week in person on Campus located at 1600 Pierce Street, Lakewood, CO, Monday, Thursday, and Friday (subject to change) </li><li>The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
