<p>The City of Lawrence is currently seeking four (5) civic-minded residents to serve as volunteer members of the Stockton Park Advisory Commission. This newly formed commission will play a key role in preserving and celebrating the city's rich history through the selection and promotion of notable historic figures with strong ties to Lawrence.</p> <p>Commission members will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Reviewing and selecting nominations of deceased individuals who made a significant impact on the City of Lawrence (must be deceased for at least 10 years); </li><li>Selecting a local artist to depict the annual honoree; </li><li>Coordinating educational and cultural efforts, including the creation of historical materials; </li><li>Attending commission meetings and participating in commission decisions; </li><li>Supporting the development and promotion of public art displays within Stockton Park; </li><li>Electing a chairperson annually and selecting one member to manage administrative tasks (minutes, meeting coordination, mailings, etc.). </li></ul> <p>How to Apply:</p> <p>Submit a brief letter of interest and a resume or summary of relevant experience to the Personnel Department at:</p> <p>??
