<p>Job Title: Distribution Lineman B</p> <p>Location: Louisiana, USA</p> <p>Position Reports To: Crew Foreman</p> <p>Job Classification: Full Time / Non-Exempt</p> <p>Company: Electra Grid Solutions</p> <p>electragridsolutions.com</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Distribution Lineman B is responsible for assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power lines and related equipment. This role is the second-highest level in the lineman progression and is designed for employees gaining full proficiency toward becoming a Distribution Lineman A. The Lineman B is expected to perform a broad range of duties safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.</p> <p>Job Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Work safely while constructing, maintaining, or repairing energized and de-energized distribution systems</p> </li><li> <p>Set poles and anchors in accordance with safety standards and technical specifications</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a clean and functional condition</p> </li><li> <p>Perform rigorous physical labor as part of regular duties</p> </li><li> <p>Learn and work with distribution voltages and understand induced voltage</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in reading blueprints, recognizing structural issues, and inspecting infrastructure</p> </li><li> <p>Operate from aerial devices and bucket trucks to complete assigned tasks</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with crews while demonstrating initiative and growing technical knowledge</p> </li><li> <p>Safely work alone on de-energized lines when necessary</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in stringing, sagging, and framing conductor wire and structures</p> </li><li> <p>Install basic line hardware, compression connections, and pole framing components</p> </li><li> <p>Climb wood and steel structures safely and effectively</p> </li><li> <p>Properly inspect, install, and remove PPE, cover-up, and rubber goods</p> </li><li> <p>Understand and apply grounding techniques, minimum approach distances, and tagging procedures</p> </li><li> <p>Perform basic bucket rescue or escape maneuvers</p> </li><li> <p>Tie knots, operate hand lines, and handle materials and tools effectively</p> </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED required</p> </li><li> <p>Experience installing and maintaining overhead/underground electrical lines</p> </li><li> <p>Valid CDL Class A license required to be maintained while in position</p> </li><li> <p>Valid First Aid, CPR, and Pole Top Rescue certification required</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass drug, alcohol, background, MVR and clearinghouse checks upon hire and continuously while in position</p> </li><li> <p>Must pass a DOT physical examination</p> </li><li> <p>Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice</p> </li><li> <p>Able and willing to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends</p> </li><li> <p>Comfortable working in all types of weather conditions, including inclement weather</p> </li><li> <p>Understanding of utility operations and job site safety protocols</p> </li><li> <p>Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently or within a team</p> </li><li> <p>Professional, dependable, and committed to high safety standards</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to climb poles, ladders, and structures regularly</p> </li><li> <p>Frequent physical activity, including bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and reaching</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to grip, manipulate, and handle tools and small parts with precision</p> </li><li> <p>Visual acuity required for identifying materials, reading instruments, and working with energized components</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods, sometimes under adverse weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to wear and use full PPE (hard hats, rubber gloves, safety harnesses, etc.) for long durations</p> </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li> <p>Outdoor work environment in all seasons and weather conditions</p> </li><li> <p>Exposure to electrical hazards, construction equipment, noise, and heights</p> </li><li> <p>Travel to job sites required with occasional overnight stays</p> </li><li> <p>Extended work hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary</p> </li></ul> <p>Key Attributes</p> <ul> <li> <p>Self Motivated - Takes initiative and responsibility for for safety quality.</p> </li><li> <p>Team-Oriented - Works cooperatively with others in a crew setting.</p> </li><li> <p>Customer-Focused - Acts with professionalism and respect.</p> </li><li> <p>Safety-Minded - Adheres to safety protocols and uses PPE properly.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Notes</p> <p>This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
