<p>Tesla is seeking a Senior Counsel to join the Commercial Legal Team, primarily supporting supply chain operations in the procurement of goods and services. This role will also involve assisting with transactions for other business units, including the sale of energy storage and charging products, as well as the expansion of the Supercharger network. Based in one of Tesla's offices in Austin, Texas, or the Bay Area of California, this position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned commercial lawyer to contribute to accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.</p> <ul> <li>Manage a high volume and wide range of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, IP licensing agreements, development agreements, services agreements, and confidentiality agreements </li><li>Provide advice on a variety of strategic, regulatory, and transactional matters for the supply chain team and other business units </li><li>Facilitate resolution of legal disputes by drafting and responding to breach of contract claims </li><li>Prepare and maintain contract forms to support Tesla's businesses and operational areas </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues worldwide to ensure consistency in contracts and risk allocation across Tesla's various businesses </li><li>Juris Doctor with a current license to practice in at least one U.S. state or Washington, DC </li><li>Minimum of 8 years of practice experience, with a combination of law firm and in-house experience preferred </li><li>Excellent communication skills with business-level to near native-level fluency in English, both verbal and written, with Spanish, German, or additional languages as a plus </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to proactively identify problems, drive projects, make complex cost/benefit assessments, and identify pragmatic legal and business solutions </li><li>Capability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, challenging environment </li><li>Quick and flexible learning ability with strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity and risk </li><li>High standards, impeccable integrity, ethical conduct, and sound judgment </li></ul>
