Must be available to work additional hours as needed.</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Sr Plumbing/Mechanical Inspector will review and interpret plumbing and mechanical codes; directing contractors, engineers and City personnel in the implementation of plumbing and mechanical codes.</p> <ul> <li>Supervise and review work of subordinate plumbing/mechanical inspectors for quality and uniformity of inspections. </li><li>Assist inspectors in resolving code interpretation differences between inspections and customers. </li><li>Answer questions resolve issues and provide technical advice for City management, builders, customers, and other customers relating to plumbing and mechanical code and regulations. </li><li>Approves alternate mechanical/plumbing inspection methods or material for code compliance within the scope of authority delegated by the Deputy Building Official, Assistant Director or Director. </li><li>Ensure inspections are performed in accordance with approved plans and all disciplines. </li><li>Demonstrate superior seamless customer service, integrity and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity. </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Requires a Bachelor's degree </li><li>Minimum of five (5) years of related experience </li><li>Minimum of two (2) of those years must be supervisory experience </li><li>A combination of education and pertinent experience may be considered </li><li>State of Texas Plumbing Inspector License required </li><li>ICC Residential Plumbing Inspector and Commercial Plumbing Inspector Certifications required within 6 months of hire </li><li>ICC Residential Mechanical Inspector and Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certifications required within 6 months of hire </li><li>A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - TMRS is a required retirement plan for all full-time employees.
