<p>Tanner Health System is recruiting a Nurse Practitioner to work at our Tanner Heart and Vascular Specialist practice located in the brand-new Tanner Health Pavilion in Carrollton, GA. This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity to join Tanner Medical Group, a 240 provider, hospital employed multi-specialty group. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills. Communicates effectively with patients and management regarding service recovery opportunities. Works together with other team members to achieve Office and System customer service goals. </li><li>Development: Maintain and update level of skill for pertinent medical assistant duties. Participates in continuing education. Participates in the development of new programs (ex: Process Improvement, Quality Initiatives). </li><li>Patient Care: Performs evaluations, provide treatment and counsel patients. Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Master's Degree</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Six months of related experience</p> <p>Licenses & Certifications</p> <ul> <li>Georgia Nurse Practitioner License </li><li>Georgia Licensed Practical Nurse or Multistate Nursing License </li><li>Healthcare Provider (CPR) </li></ul> <p>Supervision</p> <ul> <li>Regularly uses assistance and leads the work of one to four co-employees, may instruct new employees and correct work routines, checks results and may discuss with employee's superior. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Able to communicate effectively with medical and hospital staff and various populations in clinics and public screening events. </li><li>ACLS recommended. </li><li>Additional certification will be required for some specialties (i.e. ACLS, PALS) </li><li>Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner in Georgia </li><li>Graduate of a recognized program for Nurse Practitioner training (MSN). </li><li>Must be capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, other employees and physicians </li><li>Must maintain high degree of confidentiality. </li><li>Must meet credentialing criteria. </li><li>Must possess the cognitive ability to understand patient medical records, physician orders and medical orders to be communicated to patient, hospital and/or other physician. </li><li>Must possess the sense or discipline to work in accordance with accepted clinical standards. </li><li>Prior experience in a like specialty preferred. </li></ul> <p>Definitions</p> <ul> <li>Nurse practitioner provides patient services through the performance of patient evaluation, assessment and treatment in the medical office setting as allowed by state licensure laws under the supervision of the medical director. The nurse practitioner works closely with the clinic staff, hospital departments and community agencies. </li></ul> <p>Contact With Others</p> <p>Requires frequent contact with many persons at different levels inside and outside of the organization to carry out organization policies and programs and obtain willing acceptance, consent, or action.</p> <p>Effect Of Error</p> <p>Probable errors not easily detected and may adversely affect external as well as internal relationships and may result in major expenditures for equipment, materials, or procedures detrimental to the patient's welfare or the organization's interest. Work is subject to general review only and requires considerable accuracy and responsibility. Continually works with reports, records, plans, and programs of a major functional area of the organization where integrity is required to safeguard the organization's position. Duties may involve the preparation of data on which the administration bases important decisions and are highly confidential.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>Supervises a small section of employees (up to 15), orients and trains employees, schedules, assigns, checks, and maintains flow of employees' work, carries out most personnel decisions, and initiates minor personnel actions.</p> <p>Mental Demands</p> <p>Work involves a variety of problems in a general field, some of which are complex. Involves some independent judgment to decide what to do to assemble facts, determine variations from standard procedures, or plan other action to be taken to meet general objectives.</p> <p>Physical Effort</p> <p>Moderate physical effort - Lifts, carries, or handles lightweight (1 to 25 lbs.) materials or equipment for about half of the day. Very occasional physical effort with medium weight objects (25- 60 lbs.). Office or laboratory work requires close visual effort and concentration more than half of day. Works in reaching or strained positions for less than half of day.</p> <p>Working Conditions</p> <p>Moderate - (About 50% of the day) Involved in exposure to dirt, odors, noise, or some work is performed with exposure to temperature/weather extremes/occupational risk.
