<p>If you are a current University employee, please use the internal career site to apply for this position.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This posting is for a full-time, 12-month, exempt position. This position is responsible for providing technical/technology support for campus events, meetings, on-campus conferences, etc. This individual will work closely with the Facilities Office in ascertaining the technology requirements needed for scheduled events. Management of student and part-time workers is also required. Will require flexible hours including evening and weekend hours.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>This position requires regular, predictable, reliable attendance in the office</p> <p>environment.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Provide support for the use of multiple technologies (e.g. audio-visual, Zoom, etc.) for meetings and events/conferences. This includes virtual events when needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Inventory and manage event related audio-visual and additional technology equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with other appropriate ITS staff when equipment repairs, upgrades, and/or replacement are needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise student techs as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with Departments and Divisions on campus as needed regarding audio-visual needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be proficient with different types of audio-visual equipment, and able to diagnose and resolve media system problems.</p> </li><li> <p>Work with sound equipment that includes microphones, audio compressors, noise reduction systems, sound speakers, cables and recording equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage audio during an entire event, including set up, operation, tear down and maintenance</p> </li><li> <p>PC proficiency including PowerPoint, clickers, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Switch sources of video input from one camera or studio to another, from film to live programming, or from network to local programming.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform minor repairs and routine cleaning of audio and video equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>All other duties assigned by the Technical Support Services Manager.</p> </li></ol> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Competencies</p> <ol> <li> <p>Technical Capability.</p> </li><li> <p>Service-Orientation</p> </li><li> <p>Strategic Thinking.</p> </li><li> <p>Communication Proficiency.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaboration.</p> </li><li> <p>Integrity.</p> </li><li> <p>Lifelong Learner.</p> </li><li> <p>Problem Solving Skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Thoroughness.</p> </li><li> <p>Organizational Skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Openness to new ideas and ways of doing things.</p> </li></ol> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>This position may work with student workers and/or part time workers.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.</p> <p>Position Type and Expected Hours of Work</p> <p>This is a full-time 12-month position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, work hours are also dependent on needed support for events. This means evening and weekend work hours will be required.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel may be expected. A valid US Driver's license with a safe driving record is required.</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ol> <li> <p>Associate's degree or equivalent work experience. High school diploma required.</p> </li><li> <p>Three or more years of experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience with audio visual and computer technology used in large venue areas, conference/meeting rooms, and classrooms.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to troubleshoot audio-visual/technology issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, analytical, problem solving, collaboration and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work with others.</p> </li><li> <p>Will require evening and weekend hours.</p> </li></ol> <p>For optimal consideration of your applicant file, faculty applications must include a cover letter; current Resume or Curriculum Vitae; a statement of teaching philosophy; and the contact information for three professional references with your application.
