As a non-profit organization, we provide financial assistance to eligible patients so everyone can access essential mammography services, regardless of their financial circumstances.</p> <p>To ensure that all women have better access to potentially life-saving mammography services, we look for support from individuals and community partners to help us fund outreach efforts and screening mammograms. You will interact with with callers from any outpatient offices across modalities - over the phone and in person. This role is responsible for providing support to the Outpatient Clinics by obtaining information needed prior to the patient having their exam performed. These might include, but not limited to, ensuring the patient has the correct orders, prior imaging, labs, chart notes, interpreter scheduled, and prior authorization. You will utilize a variety of electronic systems to complete job responsibilities (RIS, PACS, EMR, etc.). You will also schedule exams by reviewing and initiating communication with technologists to ensure appropriate exam is scheduled and we have all documentation required to perform exam. Re-position schedule as needed and work waiting list to fill gaps. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within healthcare/radiology.</p> <p>Pay:</p> <p>New employees to this role can expect to be offered $18.60 - $22.13 per hour based on relevant experience, skills, and abilities.</p> <p>Benefits + Perks:</p> <ul> <li>Prioritize your work / life balance - No on-call or overnight shifts! </li><li>Shift differentials for any hours worked after 6PM or on the weekends </li><li>Medical, dental and vision benefits </li><li>Available HSA and FSA options </li><li>Mental health and wellness benefits through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) </li><li>Basic life insurance, and long term disability coverage </li><li>Robust 401K package: Automatic 3% employer contribution on day one + up to 3% employer match </li><li>Accrue up to 17 days of PTO per year for all eligible new employees </li><li>Generous PTO rollover + PTO cash out opportunities </li><li>9 paid holidays </li><li>Annual, automatic compensation growth path </li><li>Profit sharing </li><li>Options for Legal / ID Protection and more </li></ul> <p>Location: This is an onsite role that will support the Carol Milgard Breast Center in Tacoma, WA</p> <p>Schedule: Monday - Friday 8AM - 4:30PM</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Utilize electronic worklist and schedule grid to ensure all scheduled appointments are processed completely 72 hours or more in advance to appointment. </li><li>Ensure prior examinations and reports are accessible in RIS/PACS for scheduled appointments by utilizing appropriate systems for tracking of medical records discs, reports, films, and other medical records. </li><li>Push digital images electronically via PACS systems, when appropriate, maintain EMIX system by pushing and purging studies per expected process. </li><li>Keep physicians, technologists, or other medical personnel informed by communicating availability or unavailability of records. </li><li>When needed, obtain labs or orders to do labs on site pertinent to the studies being done per policy (i.e. Creatinine for CT/MRI/enhanced X-rays; Glucose for NM). </li><li>Follow guidelines for special request/STAT/schedule modification. Coordinates with clinical and referring to accommodate the customer's needs. Sends notification on all STAT orders for immediate action. </li><li>Verifies provider orders for accuracy, completeness, and requests updated orders as needed according to established protocols and technologist or Radiologist requests. </li><li>Ensures all orders are attached to scheduled appointments (electronic, faxed, etc.). </li><li>Ensure Interpreter has been procured for appointment scheduled. </li><li>Ensure Prior Authorization has been procured for appointment scheduled if needed. </li><li>Reposition schedule as needed by scheduling and rescheduling appointments. </li><li>Work the wait list to fill gaps. </li><li>Duties include managing multiple phone lines, email, and faxes. </li><li>Protect the security and confidentiality of medical records to ensure that HIPAA compliance is maintained. Handle Release of Information (ROI) according to state and HIPAA guidelines. </li><li>Where appropriate, manage the postage machine ensuring adequate funds are available. </li><li>Coordinate supply needs with management and purchasing department. </li><li>Telephone pre-registration screening when needed. May provide patients with preparation protocol, directions to office, etc. </li><li>Assist other department members as needed. </li><li>All work is completed within established goals and accuracy standards. </li><li>Follow the center exposure controls plan for blood borne and airborne pathogens. </li><li>Provide accurate information to key customers. </li><li>Work closely with Managers, Modality Specialists, and Technologists to ensure needs are being met. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Education/Work Experience</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required. </li><li>1-3 years medical office experience preferred </li><li>A formal medical terminology class or equivalent medical office experience is preferred. </li></ul> <p>Job Knowledge/Skills</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of scheduling processes. </li><li>Knowledge of billing/insurance requirements or restrictions for procedures. </li><li>Basic knowledge of radiology procedures, including general x-ray, DEXA, ultrasound, mammography, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Fluoroscopy, IR and special procedures. </li><li>Know the preparations for all of the exams performed and the safety guidelines involved with each exam. </li><li>Understand the RIS system and specifically the scheduling module recognizing the company's multiple locations. </li><li>Understand insurances and know which exams require prior authorization and schedule accordingly. </li><li>Ability to provide geographical directions to all outpatient locations. </li><li>Ability to understand all applications used to provide the practice with referrals from medical facilities. </li><li>Ability to organize, multi-task and coordinate. </li><li>Ability to correctly pronounce and spell medical terms. </li><li>Solid analytical and technical skills. </li><li>Able to use all related hardware and software. </li><li>Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. </li><li>High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information, situations, and documentation. </li><li>Ability to work effectively in teamwork environment and have respectful behavior while working as a team with co-workers. </li><li>Communicate professionally with other medical facilities, patients, and customers. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and carry out instructions effectively. </li><li>Must perform routine office administration procedures including typing, sorting, and reviewing referrals, faxing and keeping workstation area clean and organized. </li><li>Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes. </li><li>Aptitude to learn new information quickly and accurately. On-the-job experience may substitute for knowledge or experience requirements. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Work is classified as sedentary in physical requirements. Requires the ability to lift/carry 1-5 pounds frequently, occasionally 10 pounds maximum.</p> <p>Mental Requirements</p> <p>Work requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle mentally stressful situations. The ability to maintain high level of sensitivity towards confidential information is also required.</p> <p>Working/Environmental Conditions</p> <p>Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions. There may be exposure to communicable diseases.
