<p>Job Description:</p> <ul> <li>Teach MUS 103, Introduction to Music Theory, a preparatory music literacy and introductory ear training course intended for music concentration students. </li><li>Teach MUS 101, Music Fundamentals, a music literacy course intended for general education students. </li><li>In subsequent semesters, potentially teach MUS 105, Music Theory and Aural Skills I, for music concentration students. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in music. </li><li>Classroom teaching experience in music, beyond graduate teaching assistantships. </li><li>Availability to teach at the Charlestown campus on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in the fall 2025 semester. </li><li>Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualification:</p> <ul> <li>Master's or doctoral degree in music composition or music theory. </li><li>Enthusiasm for the integration of contemporary popular music into traditional music theory instruction. </li><li>Experience with college teaching. </li><li>Experience with community college educational setting. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary: $1,397 Per Credit Hour</p> <p>Review Date: open until filled</p> <ul> <li>Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as noted above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience has prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position. </li><li>Please note that as a condition of employment, the final candidate will undergo Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background screenings in accordance with state regulations.
