Provides patient service using diagnostic, portable, and fluoroscopic equipment. The Radiologic Technologist is competent in the production of quality radiographs for proper treatment and diagnosis by physicians.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology </li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology </li><li>Knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook </li><li>Relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience performing diagnostic radiography </li></ul> <p>Certifications and Licenses Required:</p> <ul> <li>BLS Certification approved by the American Heart Association </li><li>Certification by the American Registry of Radiographic Technologist license </li><li>New Jersey state license </li></ul> <p>Scheduling Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Evening shift </li><li>At least (1) holiday shift per year </li><li>Two (2) weekend shifts/months as needed by the department (between 11pm Friday and 8am Monday) </li><li>Two (2) overnight shifts/year as needed by department </li><li>On call rotation </li><li>Per Diem </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Performs surgical and portable examinations as assigned </li><li>Performs and/or assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures </li><li>Prepares and maintains room and assures emergency supplies are intact </li><li>Instructs radiology students according to clinical and didactic requirements </li><li>Assists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel, as appropriate </li><li>Performs visual checks on equipment and reports findings to appropriate personnel </li><li>Performs all routine radiographic procedures and views according to the department procedure manual </li><li>Identifies problems and communicates with immediate supervisor/charge staff, offers solutions as appropriate </li><li>Adjusts technical factors in proportion to the patient and body part being examined, while minimizing radiation </li><li>Participate in the teaching/preparation of patients/families as appropriate and according to age-specific guidelines </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Other Things to Know:</p> <p>This job description outlines the core responsibilities of the role, but it's not meant to cover every task you may take on.
