<p>Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour</p> <p>St. Ann Adult Day Service provides medical supervision and a pleasant, structured day program for elders and those with disabilities. St. Ann helps to keep families together and offers a much-needed respite for caregivers. We help to reduce the likelihood of premature nursing home placement.</p> <p>Catholic Charities of Baltimore, St. Ann Adult Day Service is currently seeking a Driver (35 hours) who will be responsible for providing daily and/or special event transportation for the program residents. The Driver will ensure proper vehicle care and maintenance to meet the needs of the program and the safety of their passengers. The work schedule is Monday - Friday 6am - 9:30am and 1pm - 4:30pm (split shift).</p> <p>JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Transports participants to and from the facility daily as requested. </li><li>Obtains routing information from designated staff member and reports related problems immediately following the trip. </li><li>Provides help required to safely board and disembark passengers and always maintains security for passengers, by using the wheelchair locks, safety belts and other measures defined in the program's policies and procedures. </li><li>Observes passengers for changes in functioning and reports observations to designated staff member immediately following the trip. </li><li>Conducts full inspection of vehicle to identify damage, safety concerns, and fuel levels prior to each use, report any concerns to the appropriate supervisor. </li><li>Immediately reports traffic accidents to supervisor, requesting police or ambulance service as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>PROGRAM SPECIFIC DUTIES:</p> <p>Employees working in the following program(s) have responsibilities that are in addition to the above duties and responsibilities. These include, but are not limited to:</p> <p>St. Ann's Adult Day Center:</p> <ul> <li>Obtain and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Certification/Licensure:</p> <ul> <li>First Aid/CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation). </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. </li><li>Excellent communication skills including active listening. </li><li>Maintains a safe environment for patients and co-workers. </li><li>Comfortable in an environment in which patients/clients cannot perform basic life duties. </li><li>Ability to relate and care for a variety of personalities. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds, stand for periods of time, bend, push/pull wheelchairs, provide physical assistance, and be able to lift and/or transfer people. </li><li>Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, etc. </li><li>Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. </li><li>Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. </li><li>Hearing and vision abilities within normal range (corrected) to drive safely and to observe and communicate with others. </li><li>Driving (Agency and/or personal vehicle) is required for this position. Driver must be at least 21 years of age, with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience, and a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence.
