<p>Florida A&M University's Office of Strategic Planning, Analysis, and Institutional Effectiveness is please to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Coordinator, Computer Applications (Senior Data Analyst) vacancy.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Conduct advanced data analysis, predictive modeling, and statistical research to inform institutional decision-making, planning, and policy development; Extract, clean, and analyze complex data from FAMU's enterprise systems (e.g., Workday Student, iRattler PeopleSoft, Banner, and related databases); Design and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SAS Visual Analytics to support operational and strategic goals; and lead and coordinate data collection and reporting for internal stakeholders and external agencies (e.g., Board of Governors, IPEDS, U.S. Department of Education, SACSCOC).</p> <p>Translate complex data into executive summaries, presentations, and infographics tailored for university leadership and campus wide dissemination; Collaborate with university offices including Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Finance to ensure data alignment and integrity; Serve as a technical lead on data governance, data definitions, and documentation to ensure consistency and transparency in reporting; Mentor junior analysts and contribute to building analytic capacity across the Division; and support data-related needs for institutional effectiveness, student outcomes, accreditation, and grant reporting.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or appropriate specialization and two years of related experience; or Master's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or appropriate specialization.</p> <p>Recommended Competencies</p> <p>Proficiency in SQL and at least one statistical software package (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS, Python);</p> <p>Experience developing dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms;</p> <p>Demonstrated ability to synthesize and communicate complex data in a clear, concise, and actionable manner;</p> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences;</p> <p>Commitment to the values and mission of Florida A&M University, with sensitivity to working in a diverse academic environment;</p> <p>Knowledge of computer operations, functions, and related peripherals;</p> <p>Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field (i.e. C++, Visual Basic, TCP/IP, SQL, Oracle Applications, UNIX, HTML, CGI, and JavaScript);</p> <p>Ability to interpret complex written specifications and conditions;</p> <p>Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;</p> <p>Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the network and data field;</p> <p>Knowledge of PeopleSoft development and interfacing methodology;</p> <p>Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously;</p> <p>Ability to utilize problem solving skills;</p> <p>Knowledge of standard programming languages, concepts, practices, and procedures within the technology field (i.e. C++, Visual Basic, TCP/IP);</p> <p>Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation;</p> <p>Ability to convey technical information to technical and non-technical users;</p> <p>Ability to interface business applications with other systems; and</p> <p>Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Educational Research, Information Systems, Computer Science, Higher Education, or a closely related field.</p> <p>Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in data analytics, institutional research, or business intelligence- preferably in a higher education setting.</p> <p>Experience with Florida Board of Governors (BOG) data submissions and performance metrics. Familiarity with accreditation reporting standards (e.g., SACSCOC). Knowledge of higher education data sources such as IPEDS, Common Data Set, and state-level accountability reports. Experience with ERP systems such as Workday or Banner. Understanding of FERPA and other data privacy regulations.</p> <p>Pay Plan</p> <p>This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <p>Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education.
