<p>Description</p> <p>Smithbucklin, a 650-person, employee-owned professional services company with more than 70 years of success serving the association market, with primary offices in Chicago and Washington, D.C., is looking for a Membership & Operations Coordinator to join our Association Management team in our Chicago office.</p> <p>The Membership and Operations Coordinator plays an integral role in supporting and guiding the nonprofit volunteers and members from our client organizations.</p> <p>At Smithbucklin, we embody a culture driven by optimism, ambition, expertise, and thoughtfulness, where every team member is empowered to exceed expectations and deliver exceptional results for our clients. Join us in shaping the future of association management, where our values serve as the cornerstone of our success.</p> <p>What You Will Do:</p> <ul> <li>Build and sustain strong client relations through attentive detail in handling membership requests and volunteer interaction </li><li>Serve as the primary staff liaison to select committees and task forces, providing strategic administrative and project management support to drive committee initiatives, facilitate volunteer engagement, and ensure the successful achievement of goals and deliverables </li><li>Coordinate and support the administration of member surveys and data collection efforts, including survey development, distribution, reporting, and analysis </li><li>Support advocacy, policy, and professional practice initiatives by monitoring relevant issues and contributing to projects that advance NSGC's priorities </li><li>Manage and oversee the awards recognition and mentorship programs, from application administration through recipient recognition </li><li>Manage and coordinate the work of volunteers, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to achieve operational objectives and strategic priorities </li><li>Provide administrative and project support to the client and staff team, including database maintenance and reporting </li><li>Maintain and update association websites and online resources with current information related to programs, committees, member resources, and strategic initiatives </li><li>Assist with the preparation of board and committee meetings </li></ul> <p>This Role Might Be for You If You…</p> <ul> <li>Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail </li><li>Have strong skills in project, time, and volunteer management </li><li>Display the ability to both work independently and as part of a team </li><li>Wish to take ownership of important projects and build your skills across multiple aspects of nonprofit association management </li><li>Have a demonstrated history of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and the ability to prioritize a heavy workload </li><li>Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution </li><li>3-5 years of relevant professional experience, to include project or program management experience </li><li>Proficiency with basic computer programming, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) </li><li>You have the ability to travel 5% </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a nonprofit and/or association environment </li><li>Experience working in a cross-functional environment </li></ul> <p>Where Do You Fit?</p> <p>Whether you are just beginning your career or are a mid- or senior-level professional, working at Smithbucklin will offer you countless opportunities to develop transferable skills, acquire meaningful knowledge and gain rich experiences at an accelerated pace. Employees will work a standard 40-hour week, with the possibility of additional hours based on project deadlines.</p> <p>Smithbucklin considers several factors when determining compensation, including a candidate's recent coursework, training, experience, and certifications, among other considerations.
