<p>The Center for Social Impact is seeking a reflective and research-minded student to join our team as a Research Assistant. This paid student role will support the development of our emerging Relational Care framework, with a focus on exploring student experience gaps, mapping campus support structures, and identifying opportunities to build hope and resilience in the social impact space. This position is ideal for students interested in applied social research, mental health, community building, or student well-being. The Research Assistant will work closely with the Assistant Director and Strategy Fellows in the Social Impact Metrics Lab (SIMLab) to contribute to new campaigns, assessment tools, and frameworks that support student flourishing. Hourly Wage: $17 per hour Hours: 5-12 hours per week</p> <ul> <li>Conduct research on and off campus to understand mental health, social impact, and relational care practices. </li><li>Help design and implement surveys, interviews, or focus groups to better understand student experiences of care, belonging, and burnout. </li><li>Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities in the UVU student experience. </li><li>Assist in the development of a campaign or report that uplifts stories of hope, resilience, and relational care in action, partnered with some strategic partners of the center. </li><li>Help prototype and evaluate small-scale relational care interventions or campus campaigns. </li><li>Track documentation and support internal knowledge management around the Relational Care framework. </li><li>Must be a current UVU student. </li><li>Strong interest in student well-being, community engagement, and mental health. </li><li>Experience or coursework in social science research, data collection, or assessment preferred. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Thoughtful, empathetic, and willing to engage in complex conversations about care, equity, and campus culture. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications </p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with UVU student life and campus resources. </li><li>Experience with qualitative research, journaling, storytelling, or design thinking. </li><li>Experience with survey tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Google Forms) or basic data analysis. </li><li>Previous involvement in social impact, peer mentoring, or student leadership roles. </li></ul>
