<p>Our Team:</p> <p>We have an exciting leadership role in our Transmission Project Controls/Risk Team. Lead and supervise a group of Project Controls Analysts to support and oversee the risk management process and initiatives within the Project Controls Department. This includes providing procedures, processes, practices, tools, dashboards, reports and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control and report on the risk performance for projects of the Transmission Organization.</p> <p>The role is based in Hartford, CT or Westwood, MA.</p> <p>This position has primary responsibility for implementation and stewardship of a robust Project Cost Control Program for the Capital Project Portfolio, with a focus on Baseline Management. Goal is to provide a standardized framework in support of proactive and efficient Project Cost Control processes: baseline establishment, data monitoring, change management, trends evaluation, forecasting, timely reporting and adherence to Project Administrative Closeout Process.</p> <p>Supports the development, maintenance and reporting of Key Project Indicators (KPI's) for progress measurement, schedule performance, risk management, project productivity, Project and contract change order management, and other key metrics. Goal is to use these to continuously drive efficiency and performance in the Project Management Organization.</p> <p>The role facilitates the production of a variety of complex reports and analyses in support of Eversource's project initiation, planning, execution, control, compliance and close-out initiatives.</p> <p>Working closely with all functional departments, this position is tasked with ensuring adherence to Eversource's policies, procedures, and standards and directly supervises Project Controls Staff.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supports the development, implementation, management and continuous improvement for Project Cost Control and Project Performance processes, methodologies, procedures and services including, but not limited to:</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and establish a comprehensive framework for project risk management, oversee the entire project risk management process from initiation to closure within the Project Management and Stakeholder organizations.</p> </li><li> <p>Develops risk management policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop, review, and update the Project Risk Management (PRM) Plan in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Lead in initiating and coordinating all PRM activities, including reviewing risk register, risk requiring action (RRAs) reviews, and status reporting. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and ensure timely completion of all deliverables.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance of the Risk Registers being maintained in the system of record as a central repository of all identified risks, their attributes, and corresponding response plans. Work with project stakeholders to update the Risk Register to reflect changes in risk exposure, mitigation efforts, and residual risks.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish standards for the consistent gathering, documentation, and storage of risk information. Ensure that risk data is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available for analysis and driving informed decisions.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish the Risk Management Board. Develop management gates and establish a Risk Management Committee (RMC) to review, approve RRAs and manage risks. Leads and administers the RMC. Performs responsibilities delegated by the RMC.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement risk management tools and provide training sessions and ongoing guidance to project team members and stakeholders on the project risk management process, including</p> </li></ul> <p>management principles, techniques, and tools. Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management within the project environment.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Works with Project Management, Investment Planning, Operations, Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Estimating and Project Performance to ensure risk management and Performance Measurement methodologies are in alignment with corporate goals and strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee the quantitative risk analysis process and tools, which include techniques such as Earned Value Management (EVM), Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, and probabilistic modeling. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and reliability of risk assessment results.</p> </li><li> <p>Produce risk metric, interpret the results of quantitative risk analysis and other monitoring activities to identify trends, emerging risks, and areas of concern. Provide insightful recommendations for risk levels, risk response strategies and project control actions based on these findings.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for monitoring Transmission Capital Portfolio Performance against Execution Readiness by reporting on current project funding status, project team development, schedule initiation, key activity aging, and scope refinement.</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for reporting the volume and cost associated with key project lifecycle milestones and resource availability risks.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides updates to director, executives, and senior management personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepares written reports, presentations and correspondence as requested.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluates the Project risk management function in relation to industry standards and best practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement enhancements and procedures to support continuous improvement program.</p> </li><li> <p>Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all topics related to Project and program Risk Management.</p> </li><li> <p>Reviews, evaluates and reports on risk trends and their impact on project financials.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides oversight and direction on the Eversource Contingency / Risk management processes</p> </li></ul> <p>Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Possess a robust understanding of project management principles, processes, methodologies, and practices acquired through experience in project delivery roles.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the utility energy delivery industry</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of risk management, finance, and analytics.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to anticipate, define and manage solutions to complex, inter-related risk management, finance and /or regulatory issues</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with implementing systems, Migrating and integrating data from several source systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Exhibit proficiency in quantitative techniques associated with risk management, such as Monte Carlo analysis, statistical modeling, and data-driven decision-making.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret numerical data accurately and derive actionable insights to inform risk mitigation strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Must be able to facilitate discussions, gain consensus, develop action plans and drive implementation</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to think and act strategically in a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting and/or conflicting priorities</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work effectively with various levels within the organization</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to monitor and analyze risk information and make recommendations</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present in front of large audiences</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent leadership, teambuilding, coaching, interpersonal and motivational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>The individual must be self-reliant with a strong sense of self-motivation, possess good communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to set priorities and support diverse needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Previous experience as a people leader and / or working in team environments as well as supporting process improvements and group facilitation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, IT, accounting, finance, business/management or related degree is required</p> </li><li> <p>Equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree will be considered</p> </li><li> <p>Advanced degree in related field is highly desirable</p> </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum 2 years of leadership experience</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in Utility and Energy Delivery is preferred.</p> </li></ul> <p>Licenses & Certifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Project Management certification (PMP) is highly desirable</p> </li><li> <p>Risk Management Certification is highly desirable</p> </li><li> <p>Six Sigma is also highly desirable</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Benefits:</p> <p>Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program.
