Founded in 1916, the MMPA serves dairy farmers in Michigan, Indiana, Ohio and Wisconsin.</p> <p>MMPA maintains a strong presence within the dairy industry with strategic business relationships through a variety of channels like processing shelf-stable, value added dairy products. This includes on-shift maintenance accountability for automation controls, receiving, processing, load outs, evaporation, drying, butter production, facilities, HVAC systems. This position focuses on managing the day-to-day activities of the on-shift maintenance team. This Position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.</p> <p>Maintenance Supervisor's Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations on shift </li><li>Work closely with Plant Engineering and Maintenance Manager to troubleshoot, improve and maintain the current operating facility. </li><li>Lead on-shift maintenance team through difficult downtime events to include prioritizing critical downtime activities and managing all work orders through the shift. </li><li>Inspect all machinery to ensure it's of a working standard. </li><li>Assist in creating and implementing maintenance procedures. </li><li>Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems. </li><li>Assist with implementing and maintaining training for the maintenance team to continue to grow. Training activities to include electrical and mechanical systems training and growth in control systems trouble shooting. </li><li>Planning and managing all repair and installation activities. </li><li>Ensuring all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures. </li><li>Manage and validate performance of a rigorous preventative maintenance program. </li><li>Preparing daily progress reports and maintenance logs. </li><li>Overseeing equipment stock and placing orders for new supplies when necessary. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining spare parts usage and inventory for all on shift activities. </li><li>Ability to manage contractors working in the facility. </li></ul> <p>Maintenance Supervisor's Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent qualification. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline (preferred) </li><li>Lead from the Front Mentality-Shop Floor management is a requirement </li><li>Must be competent with CMMS systems, Supervisory control systems, Controls Logic and other programs that are specific to work environment </li><li>Strong aptitude of automation, automation controls and controls logic </li><li>A minimum of 5 years' experience in maintenance. </li><li>Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, electrical systems, mechanical systems, vacuum, and pressure systems </li><li>Technical experience with industrial refrigeration and boilers systems are recommended. </li><li>Excellent organizational and leadership abilities. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Physical Demands: </li><li>Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time </li><li>Large facility which requires extensive walking </li><li>Repetitive Stairs: Equipment extends 10 to 12 stories and will require frequent trips during inspections and maintenance events </li></ul> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.
