This position oversees compensation strategy while also conducting operational activities such as job evaluations, pay data analysis, and compensation-related processes in HR systems. This position ensures consistency, equity, and compliance across all employee groups. The role works closely with HR team members and departments to provide timely, accurate compensation information and recommendations.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities</p> <p>The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.</p> <p>Compensation Program Management:</p> <ul> <li>Execute and maintain compensation guidelines and ensure consistent application across employee groups. </li><li>Manage and perform reviews of compensation recommendations, internal equity analyses, and pay decision processes. </li><li>Ensure compensation practices align with institutional policies, federal and state regulations, and internal equity standards. </li><li>Develop and maintain compensation procedures, documentation, and audit readiness. </li><li>Partner closely with Finance to support accurate personnel budgeting, financial modeling, and forecasting related to compensation programs, salary structures, and workforce planning. Ensure compensation recommendations are financially sound, aligned with budget parameters, and supported by reliable data. </li></ul> <p>Job Evaluation and Job Description Management</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with managers and Human Resources colleagues to develop, review, and revise job descriptions for accuracy and alignment. </li><li>Conduct and oversee job evaluations to ensure alignment with established criteria. Document outcomes and communicate with leaders. </li><li>Work closely with Talent Acquisition on the coordination and communication of offer recommendations. </li><li>Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Manager on all FVTC reorganizations which require HR support. </li><li>Maintain job profiles and related data in Workday. </li></ul> <p>Compensation Program Administration</p> <ul> <li>In preparation for annual compensation cycles and union negotiations, gather market data, update benchmarks, and complete compensation analysis. </li><li>Support development of the annual compensation budget, range progression, and market adjustment recommendations. </li><li>Participate in negotiations with Faculty and Support Staff unions. </li><li>Calculate and process annual and ad-hoc employee compensation changes and one-time payments. </li><li>Lead compensation projects to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant pay practices that align with organizational strategy </li></ul> <p>Market Analysis and Program Research</p> <ul> <li>Complete compensation surveys and maintain benchmark data. </li><li>Monitor market trends and analyze potential impacts on College programs to support job evaluations and compensation decisions. </li></ul> <p>Contracts and Documentation</p> <ul> <li>Work with leaders to gather data for budgeting and contracts. Prepare and distribute employee contracts and letters of appointment at time of offer and during annual review. </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation related to job evaluations, compensation decisions, and market data. </li></ul> <p>Leadership, Customer Service, and Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Create, maintain, and deliver compensation training for various audiences. </li><li>Provide guidance to HR colleagues, leaders, and employees on compensation matters. </li><li>Collaborate on projects related to staffing, classification, and organizational initiatives. </li><li>Lead, supervise, and support the HR Specialist, ensuring accuracy and compliance in job changes, terminations, and compensation-related transactions. </li></ul> <p>Non-Essential Functions and Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Education and/or Experience Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field. </li><li>4-5 years of related experience; Experience in the Higher Education industry preferred. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; Workday experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Strong analytical and data review skills. </li><li>Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. </li><li>Effective written and verbal communications skills. </li><li>Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially. </li></ul> <p>In evaluating candidates for this position, Fox Valley Technical College may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Work will be completed in a hybrid environment, both in person and virtually. </li></ul> <p>Work environment may change based upon college needs.</p> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Sitting: This role requires extended periods of sitting while performing tasks and utilizing computer systems for analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. </li><li>Mobility: While most work is desk-based, occasional mobility is required to attend meetings, trainings, or collaborate with staff across campus locations. </li><li>Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting and carrying of light items (up to 20 pounds) such as laptops, documents, or office materials. </li><li>Climbing: Ability to climb stairs when moving between locations or floors. No ladder use is typical for this position. </li><li>Fine Motor Skills: Precise hand movements and manual dexterity are required for typing, operating a computer, and handling documents. </li><li>Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as keyboarding and mouse use, without discomfort or injury. </li><li>Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, leadership, technical staff, and vendors, both in person and through electronic means. </li><li>Travel: Occasional travel may be required between campus locations or for professional development. </li><li>Driving: A valid driver's license may be required if travel between sites is part of assigned duties. </li><li>Vision Requirements: Ability to see at close range for extended periods to review data, system configurations, reports, and computer screens; ability to adjust focus between screens, documents, and individuals during meetings or training. </li><li>Cognitive/Analytical Demands: Ability to analyze complex information, troubleshoot issues, make independent decisions, and maintain concentration while performing detailed tasks with frequent interruptions. </li><li>Work Environment: Typical office setting with moderate noise levels; hybrid/on-site work may be required based on departmental needs. </li></ul> <p>EOE/ADA Statement</p> <p>Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
