<p>Supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software problems pertaining to computer workstations (desktops and laptops) on the local area network (LAN). Recommends and schedules repairs. Provides end user support for all LAN- based applications.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties</p> <ul> <li>Installs, modifies, and makes minor repairs to personal computer hardware and software systems. </li><li>Provides technical assistance and training to system users. </li><li>Installs and/or assists other service personnel in installation of hardware and peripheral components such as, monitors, keyboards, printers, and disk drives. </li><li>Loads specified software packages such as operating systems, word processing, or spreadsheet programs into computer. </li><li>Builds and deploys current software using an imaging utility. </li><li>Responds to client inquiries concerning systems operation and diagnoses system hardware, software, and operator problems. </li><li>Instructs users in use of equipment, software, and manuals. </li><li>Recommends or performs minor remedial actions to correct problems. </li><li>Coordinates activities with Technical Support Help Desk, Systems Support, Infrastructure Support, or other information technology groups. </li><li>Replaces defective or inadequate software. </li><li>Refers major hardware problems to service personnel for correction. </li><li>Provides updates, status, and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail, or in-person communication. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in related field. </li><li>One (1) year related full time experience. </li></ul> <p>Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>A+ Certification.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Customer service oriented with good verbal and written communications skills. </li><li>Great work ethics. </li><li>Excellent documentation skills. </li><li>Ability to work closely with user community of staff and faculty. </li><li>Team-oriented and be able to work closely with team members. </li><li>Experience supporting personal computers and mobile devices (cell phones, tablets); experience with Windows Operating System platforms to current version; experience installing and configuring the standard Microsoft Office suite including Exchange/Outlook to the current version; network support knowledge; experience with desktop management systems (Microsoft Intune, SCCM, MECM; Apple Jamf) and drive imaging solutions (RIS, WDS, SCCM, MECM). </li><li>Experience with Apple Computer technologies. </li><li>Experience in a Higher Education environment. </li><li>Browser and Antivirus support. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College. </li><li>Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities. </li></ul> <p>Non-Essential Responsibilities and Duties Special Instructions</p> <p>Salt Lake Community College will complete a criminal background check on the finalist.</p> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
