<p>Job Description Summary</p> <p>This position in Services Projects for Gas Power Controls Engineering is responsible to leadership in driving customer order fulfillment excellence, working across a global technology team focused on controls services fulfillment from order inquiry through customer acceptance and commercial operation. The TLE will support the requisition, design, structuring, validation, and commissioning of steam turbine control system components for various turbine types including nuclear power generation steam turbines. This role, in addition to closely collaborating with our internal and external customers, is critical in driving a team culture of technical system and domain depth, contemporary leadership, on-time quality execution and strong customer-focused mindset.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <p>The controls TLE is an engineering Technical Leader for Services Projects with overall responsibility for technical scope execution, design and implementation into production of controls system projects, covering nuclear steam and fossil steam turbine types. When assigned to a project, the TLE will be responsible for technical risk identification and mitigation across complete controls scope. The overall goal of the TLE is to ensure projects are executed successfully.</p> <ul> <li> <p>Technical ownership from commercial inquiry to customer commercial operation for high risk and complex projects as directed by leadership</p> </li><li> <p>Support the commercial teams for technical inputs needed to generate customer proposals that ensure we have the means to successfully execute projects if they become an order</p> </li><li> <p>Support and influence new product development and product sustaining requirements definition</p> </li><li> <p>Drive overall architecture, top level design, verification, validation, and commissioning requirement to be used by global functional engineers</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure adequate system safety, function, performance, interface, reliability, and maintainability requirements are met</p> </li><li> <p>Support and influence comprehensive test plans for system verification and validation, and customer system tests, site installation, startup, and commissioning</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate flow down of internal and external customer requirements/tasks and ensure traceability of all requirements through project lifecycle</p> </li><li> <p>Support Project Engineers in customer discussions/reviews as needed</p> </li><li> <p>Drive consistent solutions across all controls scope</p> </li><li> <p>Apply knowledge of and enforce the application of Mark VIe controls platform software, design practices, and engineering processes for nuclear and fossil steam turbine applications</p> </li><li> <p>Strong experience with Mark VIe ControlST and Cimplicity software suites and use and maintenance of control application software libraries</p> </li><li> <p>Provide customer support related to products</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure compliance with internal and industry technical regulations, standards, and other regulatory requirements</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with and maintain close, responsive, and productive working relationships with internal and external customers</p> </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Controls Engineering</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 10 years of design experience in steam turbine controls engineering</p> </li><li> <p>Strong understanding of steam turbine and plant systems operation and integration with other systems</p> </li><li> <p>Proven strong interpersonal and leadership skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Desired Characteristics</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in design & application of GE power generation controls, HMI, electrical, and cyber systems</p> </li><li> <p>Nuclear power generation controls or plant operational experience</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to apply engineering principles to analyze, design and troubleshoot systems associated with control system retrofits for steam turbines</p> </li><li> <p>Strong experience in power generation projects, working with customers, project management, and/or EPCs</p> </li><li> <p>Proven oral and written communication and presentation skills to the team and business leaders</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated systems level thinking</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in a matrix organization structure, working cross-functionally</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives</p> </li><li> <p>Master's degree in a technical discipline</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to proactively identify and resolve technical issues</p> </li><li> <p>Field engineering experience with steam turbine controls retrofits a strong plus</p> </li><li> <p>Experience with proposal generation and market level pricing for turbine controls retrofit opportunities</p> </li><li> <p>Proficiency in business computer applications including Microsoft Access, Visio, and Office Suite</p> </li></ul> <p>This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
