The company has 26 operating mines and processing facilities and two additional exploration stage properties across the United States and is headquartered in Katy, Texas.</p> <p>Job Purpose:</p> <p>At the direction of the of the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Technician B will perform a wide range of maintenance task. The Maintenance Manager may delegate the responsibility to provide direction to the Lead Maintenance Technician A or the Assistant Lead Maintenance Technician.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Safety Responsibilities</p> </li><li> <p>Personal Protective Equipment will be worn at all time while on duty (hard hat, hard toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves)</p> </li><li> <p>Before work begins on any shift, visually inspect equipment and work area to ensure both are in safe operating condition. Document this inspection on workplace exam</p> </li><li> <p>Follow all company safety and health policies</p> </li><li> <p>Report any unsafe conditions to management for repairs. Any defects will be barricaded, and a notification will be posted. Equipment will be locked and tagged out as required</p> </li><li> <p>Report all accidents immediately</p> </li><li> <p>Environmental Responsibilities</p> </li><li> <p>Keep all high traffic areas clean and clear of any trash, debris, tools, hoses, or other miscellaneous items (use proper procedures for oil and other lubricants leaks and spills)</p> </li><li> <p>Follow and maintain all applicable standards related to Environmental Compliance</p> </li><li> <p>Report any Environmental events to plant management</p> </li><li> <p>Maintenance Responsibilities</p> </li><li> <p>Performs preventative mechanical maintenance in accordance with established procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshooting, repairs and adjustments to production and safety equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete WO's on schedule, establish good communications with operations personnel</p> </li><li> <p>Fill out all needed paperwork to record completed tasks, request needed tools and parts, and provide needed information to management.</p> </li><li> <p>Additional duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required</p> </li><li> <p>High School Diploma</p> </li><li> <p>High level of safety and quality awareness</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability</p> </li><li> <p>Previous maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge</p> </li><li> <p>Computer Software</p> </li><li> <p>Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), WonderWare or equivalent equipment process software, JD Edwards (JDE)</p> </li><li> <p>Previous exposure to welding and other hot work</p> </li></ul> <p>U.S. Silica is an equal opportunity employer for all without regard to race, gender, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
