<p>The UVU Business Resource Center (BRC) provides essential support to small businesses, startups, and entrepreneurs by offering business resources, consulting, and training. This includes helping companies navigate the complexities of international trade, including import/export activities and global market expansion. We don't expect students to know everything about international trade when we hire them. We will train them to do the research.</p> <p>The UVU Business Resource Center and International Trade Center are seeking a bilingual (Spanish-English) work-study student to assist in supporting business classes and services for Hispanic entrepreneurs and business owners. This role will be during the Summer and Fall 2025 Semester. This role provides hands-on experience in community business outreach, small business education, and support for underserved communities. The student will work closely with the Adjunct Instructor who teaches business classes to the Hispanic community and support the coordination and delivery of class materials, communications, and outreach efforts.</p> <p>Benefits</p> <ul> <li>Gain hands-on experience in international trade and business consulting. </li><li>Work on diverse international business projects for the BRC International Business clients </li><li>Build a professional portfolio of work in international business. </li><li>Network with business professionals and entrepreneurs. </li><li>Flexible working hours to accommodate your class schedule. </li></ul> <p>If you would like more information about the Federal Work-Study program and are interested in working as a Federal Work-Study employee but haven't been offered Federal Work Study as part of your financial aid package for the 2024-2025 aid year, please get in touch with the financial aid and scholarships office before applying for this position.</p> <ul> <li>Assist with community outreach and communication to Hispanic business owners via phone, email, and social media.Serve as a liaison between UVU staff and Hispanic entrepreneurs. </li><li>Assist in preparing class materials, presentations, and resources in Spanish and English.Translate documents, emails, and class content as needed. </li><li>Program and Event Assistance: Provide administrative and logistical support during business classes, workshops, and events. </li><li>Client Meetings and Intake: Meet with clients to understand their international business needs and provide appropriate resources and support. Assist with the client intake process, including documentation and initial consultations. </li><li>Marketing: Assist with emails, website content, event content, and other marketing assistance as needed for the UVU International Business Programs </li><li>Administrative Support: Maintain accurate records of client interactions and project progress. Assist with general administrative tasks as needed. Help track student and business engagement and assist with reporting outcomes </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned </li><li>Must be a current UVU student and awarded Federal Work Study for 2024-2025 through UVU Financial Aid. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>UVU student bilingual in English and Spanish and interested in business, entrepreneurship, or community outreach </li><li>Current UVU student eligible for the Federal Work Study Program. </li><li>Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written). </li><li>Strong research and analytical skills. </li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). </li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients professionally. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction well. </li><li>Interest in business, entrepreneurship, or community outreach. </li><li>Reliable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team. </li><li>Cultural awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the Hispanic community. </li></ul>
