<p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Senior Project Accountant will oversee the accounting aspects of manufacturing projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, revenue recognition, and financial reporting. This role involves monitoring project expenses, analyzing financial performance, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations. The Senior Project Accountant will collaborate with the shared services accounting team for month-end close processes, ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX, and support internal and external audits. Additionally, the position requires active participation in process improvement initiatives to enhance accounting efficiency. The position will be highly visible within the Americas operations and with the Switchgear and Busbar LOB.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li> <p>Responsible for managing the accounting aspects manufacturing projects:</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and record all project-related expenses, including labor, materials, and overhead, ensuring costs are allocated to the correct projects.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that revenue is recognized accurately when deliverables are met or when project stages are completed, in accordance with company policies, accounting standards, and the terms of the contract.</p> </li><li> <p>Regularly analyze the financial performance of projects to detect potential accounting errors.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure that project accounting reports are in line with corporate financial reporting and help with month-end close processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare Balance Sheet Reconciliation for Unbilled Revenue, Deferred Revenue and WIP, among others ensuring that all project-related transactions are reconciled against GL</p> </li><li> <p>Close Project Activities and Update Status in ERP</p> </li><li> <p>Will partner with shared services accounting team in month end close process and financial statement submissions.</p> </li><li> <p>Review monthly financial statements prior to promotion.</p> </li><li> <p>Actively participate and initiate process improvements to organizational processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and SOX compliance.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with internal and external audits.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with continuous improvements initiatives as required.</p> </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>BS/BA is accounting or finance. </li><li>3-5 years of accounting experience with at least 1 year in a finance or accounting role with a manufacturer </li><li>Solid knowledge of US GAAP </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Very proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and financial software applications. </li><li>Strong organizational and project management skills. </li><li>Confidence in challenging the status quo; always on the hunt for continuous improvement opportunities. </li><li>The ability to go fast; the desire to help others go faster. </li><li>Outstanding presentation, reporting and communication skills. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul> <p>TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED</p> <ul> <li>None </li></ul>
