<p>Job Details</p> <p>Job Location: Chase - Waterbury, CT</p> <p>Position Type: Per Diem</p> <p>Education Level: 4 Year Degree</p> <p>Salary Range: Undisclosed</p> <p>Job Shift: Day</p> <p>Job Category: Education</p> <p>Description</p> <p>ACES at Chase Interdistrict Magnet School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Social Studies Teacher to join our dynamic team as a long-term substitute from August 25 until October 14. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to fostering academic growth and social development in middle school students. As a member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to inspire young minds, create engaging learning experiences, and contribute to a positive school culture.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Curriculum: Implement a comprehensive social studies curriculum aligned with state standards and school objectives. Adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students. </li><li>Effective Instruction: Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, historical inquiry, and active participation. Differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities. </li><li>Assessment and Feedback: Design and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents. </li><li>Classroom Management: Establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning. Set clear expectations for behavior and classroom routines. Leverage restorative practices, where appropriate/ </li><li>Parent and Community Engagement: Foster open communication with families through regular updates, conferences, and involvement in school events. Engage with the local community to enhance the social studies program. </li><li>Professional Development: Stay current with educational trends, research, and best practices in social studies education. Attend professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching skills. </li><li>Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, department members, and administrators to align curriculum, share resources, and maintain a positive school culture. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Connecticut 026 History & Social Studies, 4-12 certification. </li><li>Bachelor's degree in education, social studies, or a related field </li><li>Strong knowledge of social studies content, curriculum development, and instructional strategies. </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. </li><li>Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment. </li></ul> <p>Note: ACES at Chase School is an equal-opportunity employer and is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within our school community.
