<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Pomfret Community School is seeking a school social worker who will provide services to support students' social-emotional and behavioral success. This professional collaborates with students, families, teachers, administrators, and community agencies to promote a safe and inclusive school environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <p>Conduct assessments and provide individual or group counseling for students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.</p> <p>Develop intervention plans to address attendance issues, academic concerns, and crisis situations.</p> <p>Assist with behavior management planning and implementation.</p> <p>Promote student self-advocacy and resilience.</p> <p>Serve as a liaison between school and familie to support student well-being and educational progress.</p> <p>Connect families with community resources such as mental health services, housing assistance, and food support.</p> <p>Collaborate with educators, school psychologist, counselor, and administrators to implement support strategies.</p> <p>Participate in Child Study Team, IEP, 504, and multidisciplinary team meetings as needed.</p> <p>Respond to emergency situations and assist with crisis management (e.g., suicidal ideation, abuse disclosures).</p> <p>Participate in threat assessments and school safety planning.</p> <p>Support grief counseling and post-crisis recovery efforts.</p> <p>Maintain accurate and confidential student records and documentation.</p> <p>Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies (FERPA, IDEA, etc.).</p> <p>Prepare reports and data to evaluate service effectiveness.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Valid state certification as a School Social Worker (# 071).</p> <p>Experience working in an educational setting is preferred.</p> <p>Strong knowledge of child development, family systems, and community resources.</p> <p>Interested parties must submit a letter of interest, resume, copy of certification, transcripts and three current reference letters via email, fax or US mail addressed to:</p> <p>Susan Imschweiler, Principal</p> <p>Pomfret Community School</p> <p>20 Pomfret Street</p> <p>Pomfret Center, CT 06259</p> <p>Imschweiler.s@pomfretcommunityschool.org</p> <p>Fax: 860-928-3839</p> <p>Pomfret BOE is an EOE</p>
