<p>Job Title: Chapel Technology Assistant</p> <p>Reports to: Campus Pastor</p> <p>Department: Student Affairs</p> <p>Status: Part-time, hourly</p> <p>Salary: $18 hourly</p> <p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>__</strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></strong></p> <p>Summary</p> <p>The Chapel Technology Assistant is a part-time, hourly position reporting to the Campus Pastor. He/she is responsible for running and/or staffing Audio/Visual equipment for chapels and other chapel events including lights, sound mixing, streaming video, and more.</p> <p>Essential Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assist with ProPresenter, lights, sound mixing, and streaming video at Tuesday and Thursday chapels, and Wednesdays as needed </li><li>Be available for occasional supplemental events held in Baker Chapel, scheduling help or assisting with sound-mixing and technology troubleshooting as needed. </li><li>Troubleshoot, repair, and replace technology issues as they arise </li><li>Train and prepare student volunteers to run ProPresenter, lights, sound mixing, and streaming video as needed </li><li>Oversee chapel technology scheduling to ensure proper coverage </li><li>Assist with set-up and tear-down of worship instruments and sound equipment </li><li>Any additional responsibilities that advance our mission and uphold our organizational values according to your supervisor. </li></ul> <p>Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Attend all regular chapel sessions for set up, notifying Campus Pastor in advance of scheduling conflicts. </li><li>Attend chapel worship rehearsals (typically Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons) </li><li>Attend chapel committee meetings </li><li>Approximately 10 - 15 hours per week. </li><li>Be available for chapel experiences and other Baker Chapel events during the months of August - December and January through May. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications -</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Grace Christian University employees must:</p> <ul> <li>Acknowledge Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior and demonstrate personal maturity and godliness, growing in conformity to the image of Christ. </li><li>A genuine interest in the ongoing success of Grace Bible College and the support of the mission statement of "Graduating courageous ambassadors for Christ who make an eternal impact wherever they go." </li></ul> <p>Computer Skills -</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrates familiarity with technology in Baker Chapel, including equipment and sound board, and other sound equipment </li><li>Comfortable using Planning Center </li></ul> <p>Communication Skills -</p> <ul> <li>Is willing and able to communicate well with the Student Affairs Team and chapel teams. </li><li>Skilled to communicate in a manner that is courteous, respectful, and professional </li><li>Ability to use cultural intelligence to interact effectively with a culturally diverse population and a variety of stakeholders, students, alumni, administrative staff, etc. </li><li>Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, void of jargon </li><li>Proven capabilities in establishing appropriate professional rapport with courtesy and tact; listening effectively and accurately to determine others' needs; collecting necessary information; following through appropriately; and handling escalating situations with concern and confidence </li></ul> <p>Customer Service Skills -</p> <ul> <li>Skilled to deal effectively, respectfully, and professionally with people of culturally diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures </li><li>Capable of establishing appropriate, professional rapport with courtesy and tact </li><li>Equipped to listen attentively, for verbal and non-verbal cues to ensure accuracy for necessary information and to follow through appropriately, to make informed decisions, and to handle escalating situations with empathy </li></ul> <p>Decisiveness/Reasoning -</p> <ul> <li>Skilled to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, collaboratively with others to come to a reasonable resolution </li><li>Capable of approaching new ideas or challenges with a sense of possibility, openness, and positivity with highest consideration for organizational priority </li></ul> <p>Self-Sufficient/ Team Player -</p> <ul> <li>Must display the ability to be a team player, yet have the self-driven to work independently, take initiative, and perform with minimal supervision </li><li>Express genuine interest in the team's well-being, and proactively model organizational customs, beliefs, and values </li></ul> <p>To apply, please send resume and cover letter to jgamble@gracechristian.edu.</p>
