<p>Position: Case Manager</p> <p>Division: Families, Community Building and Workforce Development</p> <p>Reports to: Deputy Director, Education Center</p> <p>Location: Education Center</p> <p>Status/Hours: Full time 35 hours per week; Some evening and weekend coverage is required</p> <p>Salary Range: $40,000 - $40,000</p> <p>Program Description:</p> <p>The Education Center provides adult education services to the Brooklyn community. We serve students with GED preparation classes, ESL classes, and vocational training. In addition, the Education Center operates a Family Welcome Center in which we provide case management & wrap-around services, workforce development programming, and regular community workshops & events. Many of our students speak Spanish, Arabic, or Chinese as their first language.</p> <p>Position Description:</p> <p>The Case Manager supports ESL and GED students as they work toward their education and employment goals.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Case management and career counseling services for students in GED preparation and ESL programs</p> </li><li> <p>Work with students in the development of education & employment plans</p> </li><li> <p>Intake for students entering GED preparation and ESL programs</p> </li><li> <p>Pre-testing, and post-testing using TABE, Best Plus 2.0, and Best Literacy</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain retention through regular check-ins and meetings with students</p> </li><li> <p>Follow up with students who have exited the program</p> </li><li> <p>Keep up-to-date case notes</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct job readiness workshops</p> </li><li> <p>Assist learners with employment, internship, and college applications</p> </li><li> <p>Collection of vital records</p> </li><li> <p>Attend professional development training</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties, as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>Accountable For:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Intake targets</p> </li><li> <p>Retention targets</p> </li><li> <p>Collection of vital records</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications Required:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree required</p> </li><li> <p>Language skills in Spanish, Arabic, and/or Chinese are preferred</p> </li><li> <p>One year experience in case management and/or counseling</p> </li><li> <p>Strong computer skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong time management and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Strong problem solving skills and the ability to be resourceful</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and work as part of a team</p> </li><li> <p>Ability communicate effectively in the face of stress, feedback, or change</p> </li></ul> <p>BCS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
