We are a national leader in fighting fraud, waste and abuse for large organizations across the country.</p> <p>We have an exceptional summer internship opportunity for a top performing rising/graduated junior, senior or graduate student interested in a career in healthcare fraud investigation. Located in our Los Alamitos, CA office, this internship is for 8 weeks, 40 hours per week beginning June 9. The hourly wage is $16.</p> <p>The intern will work with our Investigations team engaged in the detection and investigation of fraud, waste, and abuse in healthcare. The internship may include but is not limited to:</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Works with the team to prioritize complaints for investigation, and then investigates, conducts interviews and reviews information to make potential fraud determination. </li><li>Determines investigation or case appropriateness of fraud, waste and abuse issues in accordance with pre-established criteria. </li><li>Conducts interviews of witnesses, informants, and subject area experts and targets of investigations. </li><li>Identifies and collects information to support the an investigation </li><li>Drafts investigation reports and promotes effective and efficient investigations. </li><li>Works with data to understand healthcare claims </li><li>Prepares and presents a final report. </li></ul> <p>Required Skills</p> <p>To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the team to which he/she is assigned. </li><li>Ability to grasp and adapt to changes in procedure and process. </li><li>Ability to effectively resolve complex issues. </li><li>Ability to utilize Microsoft Office and other programs. </li></ul> <p>Required Experience</p> <ul> <li> <p>Rising / Graduated Senior or Graduate Student in one of the following fields:</p> </li><li> <p>Criminal Justice</p> </li><li> <p>Criminology</p> </li><li> <p>Psychology</p> </li><li> <p>Business Administration</p> </li><li> <p>Or Related Field</p> </li><li> <p>Intermediate level ability to use Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qlarant is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Females, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities.</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$17.75 - $17.75</p>
