<p>To provide each enrolled student an opportunity to participate in extracurricular athletic activities that will foster physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, a knowledge and understanding of the enjoyment of the sport, and the principles of fair play. Work year is 205 days and begins 5 days before football begins and 2 days after the school year ends with 13 additional days to be determined by the 0.6 Athletic Director and school Principals and/or Superintendent. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers all aspects of the overall program of interscholastic athletics at both the middle and high school levels under the direction of the principals. Supervises and evaluates all Millis Middle and Millis High School coaches. Creates team rosters and shares with coaches and Principal. Prepares budget requests for Principal approval. Collaborates with Principal to ensure that all home games and scrimmages are supervised and organized: Provides supervision of buildings, parking lots, and game sites before, during, and after games and scrimmages. Contract all game officials, including those assigned by the Tri-Valley League. Ensures that all buildings are secured or coordinates with maintenance staff. Assumes general responsibility for the proper supervision of crowd control, home games, including attending to medical concerns. Arrange ticket sales and receipts when needed. Works with the Principal and school nurse to verify each participant's physical and academic eligibility to participate in interscholastic sports and that they have met requirements set forth in the school Concussion Policy. Oversees the cleaning, repair, and storage of uniforms and equipment after each season. Schedules transportation to and from athletic games and scrimmages; handles all scheduling, re-scheduling, and canceling of buses. Prepares schedules and submits facility requests for practices, games, scrimmages. Contacts all parties regarding cancellations or postponements. Implements and administers student-athlete leadership development activities. Organizes student-parent meetings at the beginning of each season. Provide continuous proactive communication with the athletic community regarding events, scheduling, and programmatic updates, and work with coaches to ensure consistent, ongoing, timely communication across Athletic Department teams. Keeps records of game results, maintains files of annual awards and recognition to the athletic program participants. Serve as a school liaison for the Millis Boosters and partner with the Boosters to promote a community presence for school pride, team support, and fan/community interaction. Ensure compliance with all relevant school and athletic policies, procedures, and regulations including the Rules and Regulations of the MIAA, Millis School Committee policies, Millis Middle/High School rules, and Title IX. Communicates major infractions of accepted school rules and policies by any student participant during any aspect of the athletic programs in writing to the Principal within 24 hours. Inform the Principal of any athletic injuries sustained that require removal by ambulance, EMT/medical personnel examination or hospitalization immediately. Other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS: At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred Have extensive knowledge of MIAA rules and regulations Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred 1st Aid and CPR certified or willing to be trained Licensed as a MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Principal/Assistant Principal or Supervisor-Director (preferred) Ability to work flexible hours and days as determined by the needs of the athletic program Citizenship, residency or work visa required</p>
