He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.</p> <p>The full-time Dental Programs faculty member participates in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of the program curriculum. This individual may also be assigned the responsibility of coordinating the efforts of a designated instructional team. The position develops and teaches courses in Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene.</p> <p>Min Salary Mid Salary Duties/Functions Difficult Challenges Contacts Education Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree from an institutionally accredited college/university </li><li>Graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation </li><li>Current unrestricted license to practice as a dental hygienist in North Carolina </li><li>Current Certified Dental Assistant credential </li><li>Current BLS CPR certification with the American Heart Association or ability to obtain prior to hire date </li></ul> <p>Education Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree from an institutionally accredited college/university </li><li>Member of the American Dental Hygienists Association (ADHA) </li><li>Membership in the American Dental Assisting Association </li></ul> <p>Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>Three years of recent clinical experience in dental hygiene and/or dental assisting </li><li>Teaching and/or industry training experience in dental topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars </li></ul> <p>Experience Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Greater than three years or the equivalent of full-time clinical experience as a dental hygienist and/or dental assistant </li><li>Experience with Dental materials </li><li>Post-secondary teaching experience </li><li>Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes </li><li>Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems </li></ul> <p>KSA Required</p> <p>The Instructor shall possess an understanding of and commitment to the nature and role of the Community College, particularly its "open door" policy.
