<p>About the Opportunity</p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead the development, deployment, and scaling of advanced machine learning systems that directly impact the diagnostic and prognostic care pathways for heart disease. In this product development role, you will provide technical leadership and people management for an AI software team to build cloud-based software systems and related infrastructure that support a wide range of products. You will work as a hands-on software manager and help to train and build our growing team of software engineers. Together, you will design and implement complex software components and drive the architecture of our products for reviewing, managing, and processing cardiovascular data from ideation through regulatory approval and release.</p> <p>TTC*:</p> <p>Denver: $265,000 - $283,000</p> <p>New York: $291,000 - $311,000</p> <ul> <li>Total Target Compensation (TTC): Total Cash Compensation (including base pay, variable pay, commission, bonuses, etc.). We hire employees anywhere within the United States and account for geography when determining base salary. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate tasks and goals with software engineers, product managers, AI scientists and a clinical team to help develop a new suite of AI-powered cardiovascular products. </li><li>Build and maintain Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) software solutions for large-scale clinical problems and document the design and specifications for internal and regulatory documentation. </li><li>Develop software systems and infrastructure with focus on design, construction, maintenance, extensibility, integration, and security of data storage and retrieval and integration with machine learning models. </li><li>Conceptualize and implement comprehensive data management and model training infrastructure for multiple large-scale projects. </li><li>Design sophisticated data models and tools for data routing, accessibility, normalization, and querying. </li><li>Evaluate and report the performance of software subsystems and meet application requirements with respect to scalability, compliance, privacy, and security. </li><li>Actively participate and contribute to the development product release strategy to effectively build, deploy, and maintain software components for platform integration. </li><li>Implement and refine software development lifecycle processes, including agile methodologies, code reviews, testing, and deployment strategies. </li><li>Mentor, lead, and grow the team by strategic approach to hiring, alignment to business goals, and delivery of product components. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in engineering, or relevant engineering experience. </li><li>12+ years of relevant engineering experience building modern cloud systems, plus 5-6 years of management experience. </li><li>3+ years medical imaging and/or digital health platform development experience. </li><li>Excellent ability to engage technical and non-technical audiences via strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills. </li><li>Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment while managing projects with competing priorities. </li><li>Strong organizational skills; ability to remain organized and productive in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities. </li><li>Deep familiarity with backend software engineering best practices and supporting cloud-based applications at scale with a drive for high quality codebase. </li><li>Demonstrated experience building software in a regulated environment and familiarity with relevant standards and guidelines. </li><li>A passion for leading, mentoring, and motivating engineers in a remote-first, agile team environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with ML orchestration frameworks and ML training platforms. </li><li>Strong domain knowledge in cardiac CT and coronary artery disease diagnostics. </li><li>Experience contributing to 510(k) submissions or working in a regulated SaMD development environment. </li></ul>
