<p>Job Title: Senior Specification Writer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>We are seeking a skilled Specification Writer with a strong grasp of architectural and engineering principles to join our collaborative design team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on clarity, precision, and technical accuracy in documentation. You'll be responsible for crafting comprehensive specifications that support design integrity and construction excellence across a range of projects.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Produce and maintain detailed architectural specifications tailored to project requirements and design objectives. </li><li>Partner with architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure technical documentation aligns with project goals and industry standards. </li><li>Interpret construction drawings and integrate relevant codes, standards, and product data into specifications. </li><li>Update and manage firm-wide specification templates and libraries. </li><li>Conduct research on materials, systems, and construction methods to support specification development. </li><li>Participate in internal reviews to ensure consistency and quality across project documentation. </li><li>Support project teams with technical writing expertise throughout design and documentation phases. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Technical Communication, or a related discipline. </li><li>5+ years of experience in architectural or engineering specification writing. </li><li>Strong foundation in technical writing and document development. </li><li>Familiarity with construction processes, building systems, and regulatory codes. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or within a team. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with SpecLink or similar specification platforms is a plus. </li><li>Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building certifications. </li><li>Experience with multidisciplinary design teams. </li><li>Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable documentation. </li><li>Professional licensure is not required. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>Our Client is known not only for its innovative design and rich history but also for its friendly, supportive team culture.
