<p>Job Title: Microbiologist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Serve as the Sr. Microbiologist/ Lead Microbiologist in the lab, providing direction to microbiology lab technicians and support for timely product release. Conduct microbiology QC analyses in accordance with USP methods.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform microbiology QC analyses using USP methods, including Total Aerobic and Anaerobic Plate Count, Total Yeast and Mold Count, Pathogen Screening, Antimicrobial Effectiveness Testing, Suitability Testing, and Gram Staining. </li><li>Provide microbiology Quality Control support to ensure product release on time. </li><li>Perform laboratory maintenance tasks such as media preparation, growth promotion tests, stock culture maintenance, and basic housekeeping for the microbiology lab. </li><li>Conduct procedure validation and apply Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and data recording on all lab QC test-related activities. </li><li>Comply with company policies and procedures, including safety and attendance requirements. </li><li>Develop laboratory procedures as needed and perform equipment preventive maintenance activities. </li><li>Mentor and develop laboratory personnel as necessary. </li><li>Manage supplies purchase and ensure the microbiology laboratory is always ready to support business needs. </li><li>Perform other tasks as assigned and work independently with minimal supervision. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in Biology, Microbiology, or related field. </li><li>5 years of experience in Microbiology, ideally supporting a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Experience in a manufacturing environment working in a microbiology lab; ideally in pharma, OTC, personal care, or food industry. </li><li>Proficiency in microorganism growth promotion, maintenance, and antimicrobial effectiveness testing. </li><li>Familiarity with basic microbiology testing, media preparation, plating, and culture samples. </li><li>GMP, cGMP, GLP, GDP, and USP methodologies experience. </li><li>Familiarity with USP methods and criteria is a plus. </li><li>Excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written). </li><li>Ability to work effectively as a team player. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Supervisory skills and leadership experience is preferred. </li><li>In-depth knowledge of infection prevention, antiseptics, disinfectants, etc. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The position is based in a microbiology lab with work hours from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on Saturdays and occasional Sundays.
