We are an equal opportunity employer; no information obtained during the recruitment/selection process is intended for any discriminatory purposes.</p> <p>Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule</p> <p>Grade: 107</p> <p>Salary: $11.03 - $14.12 Hourly (Dependent on Qualifications)</p> <p>Department: Parks and Recreation - Beach Operations</p> <p>E-mail: TraceyL@cctexas.com</p> <p>ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:Rotating 40 hour work week, Sunday - Saturday, between 7:00 am - 8:30 pm. shifts may vary depending where you are placed, must be available to work additional hours as needed</p> <p>Who May Apply?</p> <p>All persons legally authorized to work in the United States</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The Parks Technician II objective is to maintain and mow the City's developed and undeveloped parkland, facilities, right of ways, and beaches.</p> <ul> <li>Collect litter, large debris, animal carcasses, and tree limbs from parkland, facilities, right of ways and beaches </li><li>Sanitize restrooms and restock toilet paper, soap, hand towels </li><li>Operate a zero turn riding mower, standup mower, push mower, tractors in different terrains and slopes </li><li>Operate gas and electric equipment to: weed eat and or edge around sidewalks, fences, trees, shrubs, poles, signs, guardrails, inlets, meter boxes, alleys </li><li>Blow grass clippings and other miscellaneous debris off of sidewalks, street curbs, parking lots and playgrounds </li><li>Operator must be able to drive work truck with trailer forward and reverse; Operator must be able to negotiate turns in a safe manner without damaging trailer and tow hitch </li><li>Install new or transplant plant life such as trees, shrubs, flower; application and distribution of compost and mulch by hand, hand tools or powered equipment </li><li>Lead assigned staff to complete tasks assigned by Park Operations Technicians III and Park Operations Supervisors </li><li>Reporting all injuries from assigned staff to Park Operations Supervisors </li><li>Responsible for maintaining preventive maintenance logs and submissions for fleet repairs; liaison between department and citizen; responsible for ensuring assigned staff return and secure all issued equipment </li><li>Must be able to remove graffiti using chemicals or pressure washer </li><li>Must be able to apply paint to walls, ceilings, poles, playgrounds, meter boxes, accessories, and any other assigned locations using a roller paint brush </li><li>May be asked to perform other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>Two (2) years of work related experience </li><li>Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes </li><li>Requires operation of pickup trucks with trailers, motor vehicles, backhoes, tractors, aerial lifts up to 65 feet, and utility vehicles </li><li>Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to move and deliver work material </li><li>Must be able to walk for long periods and distances </li><li>Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel and climb to perform various maintenance functions. </li><li>Must be able to work safely outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions </li><li>Must be able to work around plant material such as trees, shrubs, bushes and grass </li><li>A valid driver's license is required </li><li>Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire </li></ul> <p>Other Information:</p> <p>Benefits</p> <p>The City offers an excellent benefit package that includes:</p> <ul> <li>Texas Municipal Retirement System - the City offers a 2 to 1 match.
