<p>Position Type:</p> <p>After School Program/After School Programs</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>12/10/2024</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>New London High School Multi Magnet Campus</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Reports To: Director or designee</p> <p>Performance Evaluation: Annually by Assistant Superintendent of Academics</p> <p>Terms of Employment:</p> <ol> <li> <p>NLEA (Teacher) - After-School Club (could be a co-taught after-school club if two teachers have the desire to work together)</p> </li><li> <p>Dates: September 2022-June 2023</p> </li><li> <p>Program Hours: Up 8 hours per week (2 hours per day, 4 days per week after school)</p> </li><li> <p>Program Locations: High School</p> </li></ol> <p>Primary Function: Learn, adapt and implement the Educators' Rising curriculum to adapt it to the after-school club :</p> <p>Typical Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <p>This description of the position of Educators Rising Club, Teacher is for identification and administrative purposes only. It is not intended to be a complete statement of all duties, which may be assigned or adjusted by the Superintendent of Schools according to varying needs.</p> <ul> <li>Organize and schedule student meetings and events </li><li>Recruit students to join program </li><li>Guide student members along a clear pathway to teaching that reflects the diversity of the NLPS community. </li><li>Understand best practices and implement them while leading this club to guide the next generation of teachers. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>CT teaching certificate at the secondary level </li><li>5 years of CT teaching experience </li><li>Earned a Goal or Exemplary in at least 2 of the past three educator evaluation cycles </li><li>An understanding of the impact of the hiring of a diverse teaching force </li><li>Ability to write reports and meet deadlines </li><li>Ability to network and coordinate guest speakers and instructors to enhance the students' experiences as part of the Educators Rising Club </li><li>Ability to engage students in both in-person and virtual teaching environments </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Leadership of, or participation in, minority teacher recruiting initiatives </li><li>Training in Beyond Diversity, Courageous Conversations, or Cultural Competencies </li><li>Undergraduate or graduate level coursework in Culturally Responsive Pedagogy </li><li>Bilingual, (English and Spanish) </li></ul> <p>New London Public School District is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
