<p>Job Title: Educational Assistant</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Assists teachers in achieving instructional goals by working with individual students or small groups to reinforce classroom learning and promote student development.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Reinforce learning of material or skills introduced by the teacher </li><li>Assist in planning and implementing strategies tailored to student needs </li><li>Operate and care for instructional equipment and materials </li><li>Guide independent study, remedial, and enrichment work </li><li>Supervise students during transitions, drills, recess, and field trips, including on school transportation </li><li>Maintain classroom displays and bulletin boards </li><li>Assist with attendance, grading, and classroom organization </li><li>Support students with daily routines such as lunch, cleanup, and toileting </li><li>Communicate student progress or concerns to the teacher </li><li>Adhere to all NMPED and district training requirements </li><li>Demonstrate professionalism, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to all district and state educational standards </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Level 1 NM Educational Assistant License (must advance to a Level 3 within 90 days of hire) </li><li>Pre-K Educational Assistants: AA in Early Childhood Development or willingness to earn 6 credits per academic year toward completion </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Level 3 NM Educational Assistant License </li><li>AA in Early Childhood Development or willingness to earn 6 credits per academic year toward completion </li></ul> <p>Additional Details: In-School Suspension</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Provides a structured, supportive learning environment for students assigned to In-School Suspension (ISS), ensuring continuity of instruction and promoting responsible behavior.</p> <p>Essential Functions, additional to those above:</p> <ul> <li>Supervise students assigned to ISS and maintain a positive, productive environment </li><li>Support completion of classwork and reinforce learning as directed by teachers </li><li>Monitor student attendance, assignments, and progress </li><li>Maintain communication with teachers and administrators regarding student behavior and needs </li><li>Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions </li><li>Ensure student safety and adherence to school policies </li><li>Assist with student transitions and schedule adjustments as necessary </li><li>Maintain classroom order and model appropriate conduct </li><li>Flexible schedule to support smooth transitions of students in and out of ISS </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with behavior support strategies and restorative practices </li></ul> <p>Additional Details: Special Education 1:1 Educational Assistant</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Provides individualized support to a student with disabilities to promote academic, social, and physical development, ensuring access to the least restrictive learning environment.</p> <p>Essential Functions, additional to those above:</p> <ul> <li>Provide one-on-one assistance to a designated student with physical, behavioral, or cognitive needs </li><li>Assist with physical care tasks such as toileting, feeding, dressing, or mobility </li><li>Support instructional activities under the direction of the Special Education Teacher </li><li>Accompany the student during transitions, field trips, and school activities; including on school transportation </li><li>Support student in developing positive relationships and independence </li><li>Maintain open communication with teachers and ancillary providers </li><li>Maintain a clean and safe environment, including assistance with sanitization tasks </li><li>Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. and assist in moving students up to 140 lbs. as needed </li><li>May be required to complete Suburban Transportation Training and transport student(s) to and from a different location. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of special education instructional and behavioral strategies </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Standing: 60% Walking: 35% Sitting: 5% </li><li>Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching </li><li>Frequent lifting/pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs;
