To learn more about what the City has to offer please click here.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>SALARY: $76,050.00</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Works under the supervision of the Community Engagement Unit supervisors. A licensed mental health professional will be made available for consultation and supervision.</p> <p>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: The jail diversion clinician will co-respond with law enforcement officers to 911 calls and other calls for service to people in the Brockton Community who are experiencing a crisis.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Actively participate in the ride-along function of the Co-Response model. </li><li>Provides behavioral health assessments to individuals and families in crisis who encounter the police. </li><li>Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures. </li><li>Provide initial crisis intervention services to individuals in need. </li><li>Represent the program in a prepared and professional manner at community events, task forces, and public speaking engagements. </li><li>Maintain linkages with law enforcement and community agencies by providing documented case consultation, program development and problem resolution. </li><li>Provide information and referral services to individuals and families. </li><li>Maintain necessary documentation, data entry, and records in accordance with program requirements. </li><li>Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of managed care and health insurance systems; provide other clinicians with managed care information and resources pertinent to the crisis being managed. </li><li>Participate in cross training of law enforcement and mental health clinicians. </li><li>Prepare for monthly Operations/CCIT meetings with the Police Department. </li><li>Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AT HIRE:</p> <ul> <li>Masters level degree in related field (counseling, psychology, social work, etc.) required </li><li>Candidates who are independently licensed are preferred. </li><li>Experience in crisis evaluations required. </li><li>Ability to read and speak English. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations. </li><li>High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere. </li><li>Must possess excellent assessment and interviewing skills. </li><li>Must adhere to professional ethics. </li><li>Ability to develop and maintain satisfactory working relationships with employees and providers. </li><li>Must have working knowledge of the current version of the American Psychiatric </li><li>Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in the co-response model preferred. </li><li>Those possessing a graduate certificate in Crisis Response and Behavioral Health Program are preferred. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Comprehensive Benefits</p> <p>When you embark on a career with the City of Brockton, you are offered an outstanding suite of employee benefits that add to the overall value of your compensation package.
