<p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Picking Lead supports daily picking and order fulfillment operations by providing hands-on leadership, coaching, and quality oversight. This role ensures accuracy, organization, and efficiency throughout the picking process while acting as a key liaison between warehouse associates, supervisors, and cross-functional teams. The Picking Lead is responsible for resolving order issues, maintaining productivity, and upholding operational excellence within the department.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <p>Leadership & Team Support:</p> <ul> <li>Support daily workflow by sorting and distributing clipboards, assigning tasks, and ensuring team preparedness. </li><li>Provide daily guidance and coaching to pickers with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and error reduction. </li><li>Train and onboard new pickers, ensuring clear understanding of standard operating procedures, safety practices, and quality expectations. </li><li>Communicate effectively with auditors, pickers, and supervisors to align performance goals and operational expectations. </li><li>Assist in completing and maintaining daily fill- rate documentation. </li></ul> <p>Operational Excellence:</p> <ul> <li>Print and mark packers appropriately to ensure proper traceability and workflow accuracy. </li><li>Conduct cart and flag audits to verify accuracy and compliance with established procedures. </li><li>Perform ladder audits and shelf-organization walks to maintain 5S and safety standards. </li><li>Ensure consistent execution of all 5S practices (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) within the picking area. </li><li>Assess inventory levels for packing materials and communicate reorder needs to supervisors. </li><li>Partner with Customer Experience and Purchasing teams to troubleshoot escalated or problematic orders. </li><li>Assist with order picking as needed to support team productivity and service levels. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Improvement & Quality:</p> <ul> <li>Actively participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance picking efficiency and workflow. </li><li>Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend actionable solutions to improve accuracy, speed, and employee engagement. </li><li>Monitor accuracy metrics and address recurring errors through coaching, training, and process improvements. </li><li>Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation accuracy and adherence to company standards. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. </li><li>2+ years of warehouse or order fulfillment experience. </li><li>Leadership or team lead experience preferred. </li><li>Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), standard operating procedures, and material flow. </li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Ability to lead, coach, and motivate team members in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Working knowledge of Kaizen, Lean, and 5S principles strongly preferred. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds. </li><li>Ability to walk and stand up to 8 hours per day. </li><li>Ability and comfortability to climb ladders. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <ul> <li>Warehouse environment with moderate noise from power industrial trucks. </li></ul> <p>Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
