Responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conduct music lessons as assigned and scheduled for students with disabilities</p> </li><li> <p>Independently develop and implement curriculum and assessments consistent with New York State (NYS) standards for music instruction</p> </li><li> <p>Adapt and modify instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students and promote skill development in communication, social interaction, and engagement through music</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, instruments, and technology to enhance student participation and creativity</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support student goals and facilitate cooperative learning and cross-curricular skill development</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate records of student progress and use data to inform instruction</p> </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>New York State Education Department Certification: Music</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>SALARY: As per labor contract</p> <p>Non-Discrimination Statement</p> <p>The Nassau BOCES offers employment and educational opportunities without regard to age, color, creed, disability, familial status, gender, gender expression, gender identity, marital status, military/veteran status, national origin, predisposing genetic characteristics, race, religion (including religious practice and/or expression), sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical condition), sexual orientation or victim of domestic violence status.
