<p>The Division of Allied Health Sciences is seeking Adjunct Instructors for lecture and/or labs for Jefferson County School's Med Ed Program.</p> <p>As an adjunct professor, you work with students at higher education facilities to provide them with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in their chosen career. Your ability to work on a course-by-course basis gives you the flexibility to choose when you want to work and when you don't. Typical duties of adjunct instructors include but aren't limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Teach community & technical college students in a specific field of expertise and engage with students to help them learn. </li><li>Review/refine a class syllabus to include instructor-specific contact information and course policies and ensuring that the syllabus meets department and college standards </li><li>Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments </li><li>Grade assigned papers, quizzes, and exams </li><li>Assess students' progress based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations </li><li>Report student learning outcomes, class reviews, and analyzing student data </li><li>Collaborate with colleagues on course curriculum </li><li>Advise students on how to be successful in class </li><li>Stay updated on innovations and changes within their course field </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree or higher in medical technology or clinical laboratory science or related field. </li><li>Completed a clinical laboratory program or internship through a hospital-based program or as part of their education </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in a healthcare setting </li><li>Teaching or training experience, preferred </li><li>Experience using Learning Management Systems (ie. Blackboard, Canvas, Brightspace), preferred </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to communicate clearly and concisely while speaking and in writing </li><li>Ability to teach utilizing real-world experience </li><li>Can utilize email and Blackboard (our learning management system) </li><li>Demonstrates passion about their academic field and education in general </li></ul> <p>Licensure/Certification</p> <ul> <li>Active national certification as a certified medical lab assistant (CMLA), certified medical lab technician (MLT), medical technologist (MT), clinical laboratory scientist (CLS), or medical laboratory scientist (MLS) </li></ul> <p>Position open until filled.</p> <p> </p> <p>Adjunct pay dependent on degree level.</p> <p>Blue Ridge Community and Technical College is an equal opportunity institution and does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, or religion in admission, employment, or educational programs and activities; nor does it discriminate based on genetic information in employment or employee health benefits.
