<p>This position is responsible for enforcing the Zoning Ordinances and Shoreland Zoning Ordinances for Walworth County as they pertain to short-term rentals.</p> <p> </p> <p>SCHEDULE</p> <p>Days: Monday - Friday</p> <p>Work Hours: 8:00 am to 12:00 pm</p> <p>Hours Per Shift: 4</p> <p>Shifts Per Pay Period: varies</p> <p>Position FTE: 0.00</p> <p>Applications are being accepted from current County employees as well as members of the public. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.</p> <p> </p> <p>Investigate complaints and manage/maintain violation files.</p> <p> </p> <p>Perform on-site inspections, often outside of traditional office hours.</p> <p> </p> <p>Maintain open lines of communication with all agency staff.</p> <p> </p> <p>Draft correspondence regarding general code requirements, code interpretations, violation orders, etc.</p> <p> </p> <p>Issue ordinance violation citations and testify in trials.</p> <p> </p> <p>Respond to questions from the public via the telephone and in person.</p> <p> </p> <p>Demonstrate a commitment to county safety and risk management efforts.</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Education and/or Experience</p> <p>High school diploma required with previous experience in law enforcement, code enforcement or related field. Current certification as a Law Enforcement Officer by the State of Wisconsin preferred. Proven experience with legal terminology as it relates to interpretation of codes. Previous experience working with legal, regulatory, law enforcement and technical terminology required.</p> <p> </p> <p>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations </p> <p>Valid Driver's License.</p> <p>Proof of minimum liability auto insurance coverage.</p> <p> </p> <p>Interactions and Communications</p> <p>Provides specialized information and/or recommendations to others regarding an area of expertise.</p> <p> </p> <p>Decision Making</p> <p>This position has authority to make decisions that are within general procedures and protocols; supervision is available as required or requested.
