We invite you to join us as we strive to be The Most Trusted Partner for Health.</p> <p>The Emergency Medical Technician manages assessment, treatment and transport of patient in the ambulance, triage area, and/or the Emergency Department and hospital. The Emergency Medical Technician will utilize knowledge and skills up to the employees? Current level of licensure as licensed by the State of Oklahoma and approved by the Medical Director of IBRHC EMS. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.</p> <p>The Emergency Medical Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Responds promptly to requests for non emergency and emergency calls as directed by the dispatcher in a timely and safe manner. </li><li>Provides patient care up to current level of licensure according to guidelines set forth by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Emergency Medical Services Division and department protocols. </li><li>Consults with Medical Control as dictated by policy / procedure and /or protocols for guidance in providing patient care and scene control. </li><li>Operates the ambulance in a safe and efficient manner maximizing the safety and comfort of the occupants of the vehicle. </li><li>Maintains a good working relationship with fellow employees, community emergency service providers, hospital staff, physicians and other allied health professionals. </li><li>Attends continuing education classes and EMS refresher courses as required by the State of Oklahoma to assure license renewal Reports to the Paramedic Supervisor, Director of Emergency Medical Services and Hospital Administration. </li><li>This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. </li><li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to patients that may have infectious or contagious diseases and / or be exposed to body fluids, wastes, odorous specimens and patients who present under a wide variety of conditions and circumstances. </li><li>In addition the employee may be exposed to various weather and traffic conditions as well as chemicals, radiation hazards, flammable explosive gases and a variety of mechanical and electrical power equipment. </li><li>All applicants will receive consideration regardless of membership in any protected status as defined by applicable state or federal law, including protected veteran or disability status. </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician) </li><li>EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) </li><li>BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire </li><li>Emergency Vehicle Driver's Training - OSU Fire Service Training within 12 months of hire </li><li>Hazmat Awareness - OSU Fire Service Training within 12 months of hire </li><li>National Incident Management System (100, 200, 700) - FEMA within 12 months of hire </li><li>Traffic Incident Management System Certification - Oklahoma Department of Health within 12 months of hire </li><li>Must be age 21, absent insurer approval. This job requires the incumbents to operate a INTEGRIS-owned vehicle OR personal vehicle (non INTEGRIS-owned) and therefore must have a current Oklahoma State Drivers License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <p>LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Prehospital Trauma Life Support </li></ul>
