<p>JOB SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Communications Specialist is responsible for assisting in the execution of the day-to-day internal and external communications strategy. Responsibilities include developing content for social media, long and short-form films, public relations and support for various communication platforms.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's in Communications, Journalism, Graphic Arts or similar field. May substitute 2 years of related work experience for 1 year of college education. </li><li>Two years of experience in either corporate/marketing communications or related </li><li>Excellent communications skills, both written and oral </li><li>Proven experience developing and maintaining high quality professional newsletters and other internal company communications </li><li>Software proficiency, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Adobe InDesign), Microsoft Office suite, Canva, SharePoint, WordPress and digital signage applications. </li><li>Graphic design and photography experience </li><li>Sound project management skills </li><li>Comfortable presenting in small groups to executive level leadership </li><li>Experience with creative concept development based upon requests from multiple internal stakeholders and message development </li><li>Detail orientation/problem solver abilities </li><li>Flexibility in terms of assignments and/or work hours </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in corporate environment or a very large company site </li><li>Experience in aviation or aerospace </li><li>Previous experience with planning and managing large events </li><li>Ability to work with little or no direct supervision </li><li>Ability to function with high energy and a sense of humor </li><li>Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines </li><li>Willingness to perform administrative work as required for position </li><li>High personal ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality </li></ul> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Office environment. Must be able to work at desk/computer. Exposure to production environment required. Occasional weekend work, extended hours and travel required. </li></ul> <p>PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):</p> <ul> <li>Develop and lead initiatives that will improve internal and external communications, increase employee engagement, increase brand awareness, promote company culture and shared values. </li><li>Execute communication requirements associated with organizational change initiatives, specifically program introductions, purpose, benefits and execution of plans in a manner appropriate for intended audiences. </li><li>Publish a quarterly company newsletter with goal of creating high interest and current relevant articles consistent with company/corporate news/business initiatives and/or employee activities/items of interest. </li><li>Create daily/weekly fresh content for SharePoint and Digital Screens, develop both mediums to their fullest potential and exhibit the utility of both to the DFJ audience (content management). </li><li>Manage copy, design and production of internal marketing materials such as flyers, emails, banners and posters. </li><li>Support planning and management of company events </li><li>Provide videotaping and photography for internal needs and assists with external productions </li><li>Serves as the PR person, when appropriate, for internal and external events </li><li>Handle local DFJ advertisements as appropriate for the intended medium (newspaper, internet, intranet, etc.) and associated expense processing as required </li><li>Responsible for creating communications initiatives to tie DFJLIT to Dassault Falcon Jet Teterboro (DFJTEB) and Dassault Aviation (DA), i.e. educating the workforce about the company. </li><li>Manage community outreach initiatives; Ambassador Program, tours and various educational initiatives. </li><li>Lead communications initiatives and perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):</p> <ul> <li>May work with outside vendors on various communications projects. </li><li>Preparation of procedural documentation and reports. </li></ul> <p>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</p> <ul> <li>The compensation for this position typically falls between $59,000 and $78,000. This position is not eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
