<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Student Support Services/Special Education Resource</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>5/8/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>Ephrata Area School District -- District-Wide</p> <p>Date Available:</p> <p>2025-2026</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>05/29/2025</p> <p>  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>Districtwide</p> <p>Behavior Specialist</p> <p>Location: Ephrata Area School District, 803 Oak Boulevard, Ephrata, PA</p> <p>Start Date: 2025-2026 School Year</p> <p>Overview: Ephrata Area School District is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist to assist in the development and assessment of behavioral management programs across the district. This role involves observation, evaluation, and consultation to support effective behavioral interventions.</p> <p>Essential Functions: Please review attached position description for a full list of functions.</p> <ul> <li>Consult with teachers on behavioral interventions, social skills, and curriculum integration. </li><li>Develop activities to reinforce behavioral interventions and social skills through curriculum. </li><li>Serve as a behavioral coach to support special education staff. </li><li>Participate in direct intervention planning and behavioral support for Emotional Support classrooms. </li><li>Process and provide follow-up support for behavioral referrals from the special education office. </li><li>Assist teachers in developing Positive Behavioral Support Plans and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. </li><li>Conduct student observations and Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) for students with significant behavioral issues. </li><li>Meet monthly with Coordinators of Student Services or Special Education Consultants to discuss programmatic needs. </li><li>Maintain resources for Positive Behavioral Support Plans and Behavioral Interventions. </li><li>Assist teachers in developing effective data collection systems and translating data. </li><li>Participate in 504/IEP/SAP meetings addressing significant behavioral concerns. </li></ul> <p>Required Education:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in a human services field such as Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, or School Counseling. </li></ul> <p>Required Certification:</p> <ul> <li>Proper PDE Certificate - Behavioral Specialist Licensure, School Guidance, or School Psychologist with experience in ABA, or a master's in special education with experience in ABA, or Home School Visitor with experience in ABA. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience working with students and families in therapeutic skills acquisition and behavior change protocols. </li><li>Experience in developing and implementing Functional Behavioral Assessments. </li><li>Preferred experience with students who have mental health needs. </li></ul> <p>Workplace Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. </li><li>Interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members. </li><li>Exhibit professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior, speech, and dress. </li><li>Follow all District policies, work procedures, and reasonable requests by proper authority. </li><li>Maintain the integrity of confidential information. </li><li>Adhere to established protocols as outlined in the Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Applicants must possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record, Act 114 - FBI Background Check, Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance. </li><li>Pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test required upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health. </li></ul> <p>Status: Contracted Position</p> <p>Salary Range: As per the current EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement</p> <p>Non-Discrimination Policy: Ephrata Area School District does not discriminate in employment, education programs, or activities based on race, sex, handicap, or national origin.
