<p>Directs institutional housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions of hotel rooms and public areas.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Establish standards and procedures for housekeeping employees. </li><li>Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. </li><li>Comprehends and practices the Horseshoe standards during inspections. </li><li>Attends all required training classes and implement his/her gained knowledge in his/her job. </li><li>Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the assigned rooms and public areas. </li><li>Submits to management recommendations for maintenance related issues. </li><li>Periodically inventories supplies and equipment. </li><li>Checks on the equipment's working condition. </li><li>Trains new employees based on the department's standards. </li><li>Completes and discusses evaluations with team members. </li><li>Takes full responsibility to the daily assigned area (reassign if it is necessary during the day). </li><li>Addresses in a professional manner any guest and employee related complaints. </li><li>Resolve guest and employee related problems. </li><li>Counsels and coaches team members on work related issues; issuing progressive discipline when necessary. </li><li>Support and maintain Horseshoe courtesy guidelines. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the manager. </li></ul> <p>The term "management" includes duties such as interviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraising employees' productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommending promotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees' grievances and complaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safety and security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters. Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees.</p> <p>EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED) </li><li>One or more years experience in housekeeping supervision, preferably in a hotel. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the hotel </li><li>Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds </li><li>Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working in assigned areas. </li><li>Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, and photocopier. </li><li>Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. </li><li>Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. </li><li>Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues. </li></ul>
