<p>The Cardiology Procedure Registered Nurse (RN) s responsible for participating in a wide variety of specialized cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the Cardiology Department that assist in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of cardiovascular disease and dysrhythmias</p> <p>The Cardiology Procedure Registered Nurse (RN) executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex outpatient care. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of patient care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction.</p> <p>Major duties and responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>The Cardiology Procedure RN conducts and monitors patients during Stress tests, ECGs, TEE's and Cardioversions in various locations throughout the hospital including continuous ECG and hemodynamic monitoring, identification of cardiac arrhythmias, response to medications, titration of vasoactive IV medications, and treatments. </li><li>Documenting patient data during Cardiology procedures and maintaining the procedure log. </li><li>Scheduling TEE and Cardioversion Procedures. </li><li>Collaborating with Radiology to assist with triage Coronary CT Angiogram consults and provide veteran with instructions </li><li>Assist during with other Cardiology needs as assigned by the Nurse Manager. </li><li>Monitoring an Maintaining life support and point of Care equipment. </li><li>Providing advanced life support measures within a team environment. </li><li>Responding to and managing a patient's conditions within scope of practice </li><li>Administering medications including ACLS medications while monitoring their effects utilizing all safety precautions. </li><li>Administers moderate sedation with appropriate patient monitoring, assessment, and documentation. </li><li>Performing basic nursing care functions. </li><li>Starting IV's and assisting Echo sonographers with contrast administration as needed. </li><li>.Interpret, integrate, and respond to a wide array of clinical information. </li><li>Demonstrates the ability to improve the effectiveness of communications and interactions with others to inspire their cooperation and confidence to ensure safe and effective outcomes in the cardiology practice setting. </li><li>Respect the opinions, abilities, and contributions of others, consistently communicate and treat veterans, visitors, and all medical staff in a courteous, tactful and respectful manner. </li><li>Resolve conflicts constructively and professionally using your chain of commands and the processes in place at the VHA Medica Center without disrupting the functional operations of the department. </li><li>Lead the implementation of high reliability principles and ICARE values. </li><li>Leads and organizes delivery of care to ensure continuity of care and peer accountability for practice in alignment with the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. </li></ul> <p>VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases, potential for performance awards</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory</p> <p>Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 07:30am - 16:00pm</p> <p>Telework: Not authorized</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position.</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorize</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorize</p> <p>PCS Appraised Value Offer (AVO): Not Authorize</p>
