<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Title: Early Childhood Occupational Therapist (LASE)</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Early Childhood Occupational Therapist provides evaluation, intervention, and consultation services to young children (ages 3-5) with developmental delays or disabilities in Lutheran schools that partner with LASE Specialized Education. . The OT supports children in developing the functional skills necessary for participation in educational environments, including fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and social participation.</p> <p>Assessment & Evaluation</p> <ul> <li>Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using standardized and non-standardized tools </li><li>Identify delays in fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and adaptive skills </li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine eligibility for special education services </li></ul> <p>Intervention & Service Delivery</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals </li><li>Provide direct and/or consultative OT services in preschool classrooms and natural environments </li><li>Address areas such as: </li><li>Fine motor development </li><li>Sensory integration and regulation </li><li>Self-care skills </li><li>Play and social participation </li></ul> <p>Collaboration</p> <ul> <li>Work closely with teachers, speech therapists, and other team members </li><li>Provide strategies and accommodations to classroom staff </li></ul> <p>Family Engagement</p> <ul> <li>Educate and support families in implementing strategies at home </li><li>Communicate regularly regarding student progress and needs </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Occupational Therapy </li><li>Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist </li><li>Experience working with young children (birth-5) preferred </li><li>Knowledge of early childhood development </li></ul> <p>Skills & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of sensory processing and developmental milestones </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment </li><li>Effective communication with families and educators </li><li>Organizational and documentation skills </li><li>Flexibility and problem-solving in dynamic classroom settings </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <ul> <li>Preschool classrooms, and early childhood centers </li><li>May involve travel between multiple school sites within the LASE region </li></ul>
