Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of Medicine.</p> <p>Overview</p> <p>We're currently seeking a full-time Social Worker MSW to provide services to in our Adult Psychiatry department.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Perform intake assessments for patients new to the clinic. </li><li>Provide direct treatment services to patients within the clinic utilizing appropriate modalities including individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention. </li><li>Provide presentations on pertinent clinical topics to trainees and fellow clinicians. </li><li>Participate in interdisciplinary diagnostic and treatment planning conferences, including case presentations, and make recommendations regarding the needs of the patient from a social work perspective. </li><li>Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. </li><li>Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM (35 hours per week) </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of social work. </li><li>Current NYS licensure as a LMSW/LCSW. </li><li>Minimum 1 year of experience in the mental health field required. </li><li>Experience, interest, and comfort working with the Severely Mentally Ill (SMI) patient population and group therapy.
